DEVELOPING THE SCALE OF ATTITUDES TOWARD THE INCLUSION

Integrating individuals with special needs into society rather than alienating them from the society depend their benefiting from all education facilities. Inclusion is an important education program aiming at increasing the education facilities of the students with special needs and students with disabilities, and providing them education with their normal peers part or full time at schools. Inclusion education is the education of the students with special needs at general education classes with proper special education support. In order that the inclusion is successful, the class teacher should be educated, and if he has a negative attitude towards the inclusion, it should be changed, and special education support should be provided. The study was conducted with 751 students chosen randomly from Trakya University 2013-2014 spring semester Faculty of Education Department of Special Education all classes, all other 4th grade students, and Pedagogical Formation Program Students.” The scale of attitudes towards the inclusion” prepared by the researcher to be practiced with teachers has been used as a means of data collection. The scale consists of 89 questions with 4 degrees. As a means of scale developing statistics, varimax rotated exploratory factor analysis has been used to define sub dimensions. For each subscale internal consistency has been determined by item-total correlation coefficient and item-remainder correlation coefficient. Likewise, in order to define discernment t-test between upper and lower quartiles. Reliability has been determined with Cronbach and Rulon coefficients for scale and sub dimensions. As a result of the statistical operations, it has been proved that the scale consisting of 5 positive, 7 negative attitudes, totally 12 sub dimensions, is valid, reliable, and usable.
