An Investigation of Ibrahim Alaaddin Body's Book, Poems for Children, in Terms of Root Values and Themes in the Turkish Curriculum


As informed in the nursery rhyme in Turkey is also one of the first works that the artist İbrahim Alaaddin Gövsa. The aim of this research is to analyze the poems in the book "Poems for Children" in terms of their themes, types and messages, and to determine the suitability of the ten root values in the curriculum and the main themes they can take place in Turkish textbooks. In this research, the method of document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used for the analysis of the poem book "Poems for Children" by İbrahim Alaaddin Gövsa. In this research, 31 poems (Love of Allah, Religion, Homeland, Sultan, Nation's Trouble, Mother and Child, Ottoman Flag (Turkish Flag), Mother's Love, Horoz and İnci / Ignorant and Book, Ertuğrul's Greatness, Kindness, Truthfulness (Small Story), Mithat Pasha, Farmer's Nasihati (Farmer's Advice), Millet Song, Spring, Butterfly, Winter, Farmers, Love Fukara, Promise of Fox, Game After Work, Namık Kemal, Stars, Muhtar Bey, Borazan, Wolf's Tale, Independence Fight, Candle, Winds, Moral Seas were used in the book "Poems for Children" by İbrahim Alaaddin Gövsa. From the poems in the book "Poems to Children", the distribution of love, working, truthfulness, helping, death, reading, longing, protecting living beings, being moral, sadness, benefit to the country, struggle, heroism and freedom has been distributed. In the poems examined in the research; love of motherland, love of mother, work and labor, truthfulness, love of nature, struggle, love of God, love of religion, love of sultan, being beneficial to the country, value of reading, guidance of intellectuals, helping, yearning for spring, not harming animals, empathizing , village and farmer's love, not being arrogant, embracing his business, being brave, freedom, strong, and good morality. It has been determined that poems can be used with an interdisciplinary approach in Social Studies, Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge, Revolution History and Kemalism courses. In addition, the main themes in which the poems can be included in the Turkish textbook have been determined. As a result, poetry book of poems named "Poems for Children" by İbrahim Alaaddin Gövsa is a book that should be used in textbooks in order to teach values education.
