Teaching Practice School Attitude Scale: The Study of Validity and Reliability

The aim of this study is to develop the Attitude Scale of Teacher Practice School (Advisor and Student) and to examine its validity and reliability. This study is a descriptive study which is a screening model. The stages of developing a scale can be listed as follows. Create items, consult expert opinion, pre-test, validity study, factor analysis and reliability calculation. The study was conducted on 342 people, 197 of whom were female and 145 of whom were male. The Teaching Practice School Attitude Scale 1 has a 5-point Likert-type rating of “fully agree” and 5 “strongly disagree”. Corrected item total correlation coefficients were calculated for item analysis of the scale. The construct validity of the scale was explored by exploratory factor analysis and its reliability was examined with Cronbach alpha internal consistency reliability coefficient. Validity and reliability analyzes were performed with SPSS 25 package program. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis applied for the construct validity of the Teaching Practice School Attitude Scale, a one-dimensional and 23-item measurement tool, explaining 32,60% of the total variance, was obtained. The KMO sample suitability coefficient of the scale was found to be .90. Factor loads of the scale ranged between .31 and .71. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis showed that the goodness of fit indices of the model were acceptable. Cronbach's alpha internal consistency reliability coefficient was .90. Corrected item total correlation coefficients of the scale ranged between .28 and .64. These results show that the Teaching Practice School Attitude Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool.
