Bireylerin sahip olduğu sosyal ağların sermaye niteliği taşıdığı sosyal sermaye teorisyenleri tarafından uzun zamandır tartışılmaktadır. “Sosyal” ile iktisadi bir kavram olan “sermaye” terimini bir araya getiren şey ilişkilerin gücüdür. Sosyal sermaye teorisyenleri, ilişkilerden elde edilen faydayı mikro, mezzo, makro boyutta analiz etmişlerdir. Mikro açıdan değerlendirildiğinde ise, “sosyal destek” bireyin sosyal sermayesini analiz etmede önemli bir kriterdir. Sosyal destek, sosyal ilişkiler içerisinde elde edilir. Bireyin sosyal ağlarından duygusal destek, bilgi-düşünce paylaşımı, pratik ve materyal destek, sosyal entegrasyon gibi faydalar elde etmesi sosyal destek olarak görülmektedir. Sosyal çalışmanın odağı, sosyal çevre içinde bireydir. Bireyin yaşamındaki iyilik halinin sürdürülmesi ya da bireyin problemlerinin çözülmesi ve önlenmesi sosyal çalışmanın öncelikli hedeflerinden biridir. Bireyin sosyal ilişkileri içerisinde elde ettiği sosyal destek, bireye problemlerini çözmede yardım sağlar, bireyin iyilik halini arttırarak problem çözme kapasitesini geliştirir. Bu bakımdan bireyin sosyal sermayesi enformel sosyal yardım kaynağı olarak ve bireyin sahip olduğu güç olarak değerlendirilebilir. Bunun yanında sosyal ilişkilerin karmaşıklığı düşünüldüğünde, sosyal ağların güçlendirilmesi profesyonel bir yardım da gerektirebilir. Bireyin sosyal işlevselliğini arttırmak hedefi taşıyan sosyal çalışma bireyin sosyal ağlarını ve sosyal sermayesini güçlendirmektedir. Görüldüğü gibi, sosyal çalışma için bireyin sosyal ağları ayrı bir önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, sosyal ağların, sosyal sermayenin ve sosyal desteğin sosyal çalışma ile etkileşimini ele almaktır

The social network of individuals that has property of capital which is called social capital has been discussed by theoreticians for a long time. Social and an economic concept of capital combine by the strength of the relations. Social capital theoreticians, analyzed that the benefits of the relations in perspectives of micro, mezzo, and macro. When assessed from a micro perspective, social support is an important criterion to determine social capital of individual. Social support is obtained within social relationships. The individual's obtaining some benefits from social networks such as; emotional support, sharing information and ideas, practical and material support, such as social integration is seen as social support. The focus of social work is the individual within the social environment. Priority target of social work is to maintain welfare of individual or the social support that individuals obtained within the social relations help to solve the problems of individuals, increasing the condition of welfare of individual improves capacity of solving problems. In this regard, on individual's social capital can be considered as a source of informal social assistance and the power that an individual has. Furthermore, given the complexity of social relations, strengthening social networks may require professional assistance. The social work that has the target of increasing social functionality of individual strengthens social network and social capital. As it can be seen that Social network of individuals has special importance for social works.The purpose of this study is to consider of interaction between social networks, social capital and social support with social work.
