ÖZET Bu çalışmada, spor bilimleri fakültesi öğrencilerinin beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmeni olmaya yönelik tutumlarının incelenmesi, amaçlanmaktır. Tarama modelinde yapılmış olan araştırmanın, çalışma grubunu, 2017-2018 Eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar yarıyılında Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Üniversitesi, Eğitim Fakültesi pedagojik formasyon programına devam eden ve spor bilimleri fakültesi mezunu ve 4. Sınıfta okumakta olan öğrenciler oluşturmuştur. Araştırmaya 45’i( %35.7) kadın, 81’i (64.3) erkek, toplam 126 öğretmen adayı, gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Gruplar arası farklılığı belirlemek için “t testi” ve “varyans analizi” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre, cinsiyet, bölüm( spor yönetimi, antrenörlük, rekreasyon ile beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenliği) ve ana-babanın spor yapma/yapmama değişkenlerine göre mesleğe yönelik sevgi ve mesleğe yönelik kaygı tutumlarında bir fark olmadığı bulunmuştur. Spor bilimleri öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik sevgileri, önceden eğitmenlik deneyimleri olanların olmayanlara göre daha yüksek olduğu görülmektedir. Ayrıca spor bilimleri öğrencileri kendilerine tekrar alan seçimi fırsatı verildiğinde mesleğe yönelik sevgi düzeyleri yüksek olanlar tercihlerini spor bilimleri yönünde kullanacaklarını belirtmektedirler. Öğrencilerin mesleğe yönelik sevgileri ve mesleğe yönelik kaygıları arasında pozitif ve düşük bir ilişkinin olduğu görülmektedir.

The current study aims to investigate the attitudes of sports sciences faculty students towards becoming a physical education and sports teacher. The study group of the current research employing the survey model is comprised of students having graduated from the faculty of sports sciences and the senior students of the faculty of sports sciences enrolled in the pedagogical formation program given in the Education Faculty of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University in the spring term of 2017-2018 academic year. A total of 126 pre-service teachers participated in the study on a volunteer basis. Of the participating students, 45 (35.7%) are females and 81 (64.3%) are males. In order to determine the between-groups differences, t-test and “variance analysis” were used. The findings of the current study revealed that the pre-service teachers’ love for and anxiety about the profession of teaching do not vary significantly depending on gender, department (sports administration, coaching, physical education and sports teaching) and mother and father’s doing or not doing sport. It was found that the love of the pre-service teachers having professional experience before for the profession of teaching is stronger than those not having professional experience. Moreover, if the pre-service teachers were once more given the opportunity to select their field of study, the ones having stronger love for the profession would once more prefer the same field of study. A positive and low correlation was found between the students’ love for the profession and anxiety about the profession
