Bu araştırmanın amacı, Fransızca Mütercim-Tercümanlık Bölümü öğrencilerinin bölümlerine yönelik tutumlarının farklı değişkenler açısından incelenmesidir. Araştırmada veriler, araştırmacı tarafından geçerlik güvenirliği yapılan “Tercümanlık Bölümü Öğrencilerinin Bölümlerine Yönelik Tutumlarının Ölçülmesi” ölçeği ile toplanmıştır. Araştırma tarama modelinde betimsel bir araştırmadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Hacettepe Üniversitesi Fransızca Mütercim-Tercümanlık Anabilim Dalında öğrenim gören 1,2,3 ve 4. sınıftaki 20’si erkek, 59’u kız olmak üzere toplam 79 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler SPSS programı ile analiz edilerek tablolaştırılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, öğrencilerin kendi anabilim dallarına yönelik tutumlarının kararsız oldukları saptanmıştır; cinsiyet ve lise türü değişkeninde, yurt dışında eğitim alma durumunda ve bölümü tercih etme nedenlerinde öğrencilerin bölüme yönelik tutumlarının farklılaştırmadığı gözlemlenirken, ailelerinin aylık gelir durumu değişkeninin anlamlı bir fark yarattığı öğrenilmiştir. Bu araştırma ile durum tespitinde bulunularak, çeviri eğitimine bir katkı sağlama amaçlanmıştır.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the attitudes of a group of students studying at the French Division of the Department of Translation and Interpretation at Hacettepe University towards their department. The data are collected by an attitude scale, which had been developed by the researcher in order to reach a valid and reliable assessment. This is a descriptive study and the students surveyed in the research are the first, second, third and forth year students at the French Division. A total of 79; 20 male and 59 female students contributed to the research. The data were analyzed with the SPSS program and shown in a chart. As a result of the research “Indecisiveness” was observed in students’ responses. It is clear that there are no differences in the attitude of students when their gender, high school, education abroad, and the reason of choosing the department are taken into consideration. On the other hand, it is observed that there is a huge difference in responses according to the monthly salary of the families. This study intends to contribute to the education of translation.
