Bu çalışmada Eskişehir Odunpazarı Evlerinde boş zaman değerlendirme kültürü sosyolojik perspektifle ele alınmaktadır. Konu, Odunpazarı Evleri’ndeki herkese açık açık boş zaman mekânları kapsamında incelenmektedir. Çayhaneler, kafeler, nargileciler, kıraathaneler, sivil toplum kuruluşları vs. Odunpazarı Evleri’nde dikkati çeken boş zaman mekânları olarak tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı, Odunpazarı Evleri’nde yaz ve kışları, gece ve gündüzleri, Ramazan ayında ve diğer aylarda insanların boş zamanlarını nasıl değerlendirdiklerini anlamaktır. Çalışma katılımcı gözlem ve görüşme teknikleriyle yürütülmüştür.
In this study, the leisure culture in Eskişehir Odunpazari Houses (Odunpazarı Evleri) is handled in the sociological perspective. The subject is examined within the leisure places open to public in Odunpazari Houses. The tea houses, cafes, coffeehouses, nargile houses (hubbly-bubbly or hookah houses), non-govermental organizes, mosques etc. were identified as the leisure time places striking in the Odunpazarı Houses. The purpose of this study is to understand how people evaluate and spend their leisure times in summers and winters, nights and daytimes, and the Ramadan month and the other months in the Odunpazari Houses. The work was conducted with participant observation and interview techniques.
