Eski Oğuz Türkçesi ürünleri üzerinde yapılan metin neşri çalışmalarının ve dil incelemelerinin oldukça ileri bir seviyeye ulaştığı aşikârdır. Yapılan onca çalışmaya rağmen kütüphanelerimizde henüz üzerinde çalışılmamış ya da çalışılıp müelliflerinin kim olduğu tespit edilememiş veya isim aynılığı/benzerliği sebebiyle birbirlerine karıştırılmış birçok eser vardır. Bu gerçekten hareketle Eski Oğuz Türkçesi metinleri üzerine yapılacak çalışmaların bir süre daha kesintisiz olarak devam etmesi gerektiğini ifade etmek gerekir. Bazı çalışmalarda müellifi bilinmeyen eserler arasında zikr edilen, bir kısım araştırmacı tarafından da aynı adı taşıyan mensur eserle birlikte değerlendirilen Yûsuf-ı Meddâh’ın Kadı ile Uğru Destânı bu çalışmanın konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında Kadı ile Uğru Destânı incelenmiş, eserin müellifi bilinen ve Eski Oğuz Türkçesi Dönemine ait olan manzum nüshası ile dönemleri tam olarak bilinmeyen mensur nüshaları hakkında bilgiler verilerek mensur nüshalardan ikisinin dil özellikleri manzum nüsha ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Çalışmada amaçlanan öncelikle eserin manzum nüshasının dil özelliklerini ortaya koymak, Eski Oğuz Türkçesi ürünlerinden olan manzum metinle ilgili değerlendirmeler yapmaktır. Çalışmada asıl amaç şu ana kadar yayımlanmamış bir Eski Oğuz Türkçesi metnini neşr ederek, eserin dil özelliklerini ortaya koymak suretiyle alana az da olsa katkı sağlamaktır. Çalışma boyunca Eski Oğuz Türkçesi ürünü olup olmadığı tartışılmış olan mensur nüshaların metin kısımları da farklı alanlardaki çalışmalara kaynaklık edebilmesi için okuyucunun kullanımına sunulmuştur.

It is obvious that publishing and linguistic analysis conducted on the texts of Old Oghuz Turkish is at a highly developed level. Despite these numerous studies, there many texts on which no study has been done or whose writer could not have been determined in the libraries. There are also many works which were confused with each other because of sameness/resemblance of the titles. On the basis of this fact, it is incontestable that studies on the texts of old Oghuz Turkish must continue incessantly. The focus of the present study is tale of Kadı and Uğrı by Yûsuf-ı Meddâh which is considered to be one of the works whose writer in not known, and which is evaluated with the other prose works with the same title by some researchers. In the present study the epic of Kadı and Uğru has been analyzed, and some information on the verse copy - whose writer is known and which belongs to Old Oghuz Turkish Period- and on the prose copies whose period are not known precisely have been given, and two of the prose copies have been analyzed through comparisons with the verse copy. The aim of the study is to determine the lingusitc features of the verse copy and then to evaluate this copy, which is a work of Old Oghuz Turkish. The primary aim of the study is to make some contributions on the field studies by giving linguistc features of text of Old Oghuz Turkish which have not been published up to now. The texts of prose copies, which have been discussed about whether they belong to Old Oghuz Turkish period or nŝot, have also been presented to the readers for the studies of other fields.
