Halk kültürü ürünleri, kendi kültürüyle yabancılaşmayı önler ve tarihsel gelişim sürecinde insanların sanatsal beğenisini belirleyen estetik anlayışını sergiler. Burdur, bir taraftan çevre kültürüne bir taraftan da Teke yöresi kültürüne sahip çıkmış ve bu iki ayrı kültürü zamanla birbirine kaynaştırmış, gelenekselleştirmiş bir ilimizdir. Bu yönüyle binlerce yıldır süregelen Türk kültür uzantılarını ve milli değerleri saklayan, yaşatan bir kültürel yapıya sahiptir. Bugün yaşamımızı sürdürmekten mutluluk duyduğumuz yer olması sebebiyle, sahip olduğumuz kültürel değerleri ortaya çıkarmak, çalışmamızın esas kaynağı olmuştur.
Every culture has its own combination of rules and values. These rules and values are born of the history and cultural heritage of the place or city in which they originate. Therefore, to understand the cultural foundation of a city, it is important to review what is known of that city’s folk culture. Throughout history, the products of folk culture aid in its acceptance and the aesthetic qualities of these products encourage appreciation of the artistic abilities of that culture. Burdur is a city which maintains both natural beauty and the rich cultural history of the Teke Region, and Burdur has expertly managed to maintain both over the course of time. Burdur, at its heart, has a strong cultural identity which brings to life Turkish cultural expression and national values which are thousands of years old. The foundation of our research is based around the cultural values that we share, and in unveiling and analyzing these cultural values, we begin to understand why Burdur is such a vibrant and wonderful place in which we are happy to live.
