Edebî eserleri edebî olmayan metinlerin ışığı al-tında açıklamaya çalışan Yeni Tarihselcilik, tarihin kur¬gusal boyutu üzerine odaklanmıştır. Başta tarih olmak üzere neredeyse bütün kültürel değerler karşısında şüphe duymayı getiren bu yaklaşıma göre tarihî bilgi, dö¬nem iktidarının gölgesinde kalarak kurgulanmış ve ger¬çek olarak sunulmuş bir çelişkiler yumağından ibarettir. Neticede kökeni tarihe dayanmakla birlikte özü kurgu¬lanmış, yorumlanmış bir tarihsel görünüm ortaya çıkar. Bu durum okuyucuda çelişkiler uyandırsa bile anlatı açı¬sından farklı bir yapılanışı beraberinde getirir. Nedim Gürsel de inceleme konusu yaptığımız romanlarını bu il¬kelere uygun biçimde kurgularken roman kişileri etra¬fında arka plandaki tarihin yorumlanabileceğini ve an¬lam-metin-gerçeklik üçgeni içinde her zaman yeni an-lamlara açılım yapılabileceğini göstermeye çalışmıştır. Bu anlamda Yeni Tarihselci edebî yöntemin en başat ilkeleri ile inceleme konusu yaptığımız Nedim Gürsel'in roman¬ları arasındaki ortak yönelişleri tespit etmek çalışmamı¬zın esasını oluşturmaktadır.
New historisizm that tries to explain literary works in the light of texts which are not literary works focuses on theoretical dimension of history. This approach which causes to be suspicious about nearly all cultural values first of all history explains historical information as contradictions ball that presented as if a truth and constituted under the protection of period people who was in power. In the end a historical view whose origin based on history but it's basic is interpreted and constituted. This condition brings a different structure by the means of narration even if arouses contradictions for reader. Nedim Gürsel constituted his novels which we study on according to these principles and he tried to show that history in the background of the novel characters can be interpreted and new meanings can always be given in the triangle between the meaning the text and the reality. In this sense, to determine common tendencies between new historical literary method's most dominant principles and Nedim Gürsel's novels which we study on constitutes the essence of our study.
