Bu çalışmada, geleneksel Osmanlı natürmortlarında meyve teması ele alınmıştır. Natürmort bir resim türü olarak kendine nesneyi konu edinmektedir. Osmanlı natürmortları meyve ve çiçek ağırlıklı bir tema tercihini ortaya koymaktadır. Bu çalışmada çok zengin nesne dünyası içinde meyve temasının geleneksel Osmanlı natürmortlarında öncelikli tercih nedeni sorgulanacak ve bu soru konunun sembolik yorumunda ana aks olarak kullanılacaktır. Meyve sembolizmi ile ilgili daha derin bir anlayış geliştirmek için Osmanlı kültürü, sosyo- ekonomik yapı, dünya görüşü ve İslam inanışı bağlamında bir değerlendirme yapılmıştır.
This study surveys traditional Ottoman still-life paintings in the content of fruit, by focusing on its symbolic meaning. Still-life painting as genre focused on world of object. The fact that fruits and flowers assumed enermous importance in traditional Ottoman still-life paintings. This survey seeks to explore why fruits have chosen primarily among spectacular variety of natural and man-made objects and to use this question as a guide to interpret the paintings’ significance. In order to promote a greater understanding of fruit symbolism the subject evaluated in regard Ottoman culture, soci-economic structure, philosophy of life and Islamic blief.
