Edebiyatımızda öğüt vermek amacıyla kaleme alınmış pek çok eser vardır. Nasihat-nâme adıyla anılan bu eserler, halkı ya da devlet yöneticilerini ahlak yönünden olgunlaştırmayı, onların sosyal davranışlarını düzenlemeyi ve erdemli kılmayı amaçlayan değerlerdir. Bu eserler manzum veya mensur ya da manzum-mensur olarak yazılmışlardır. Güvâhî’nin Pend-nâme’si 16. asırda kaleme alınmış manzum bir eserdir. Bu eser, pend-nâmeler arasında atasözlerine en çok yer vermiş olanlar arasındadır. Eserin üçte biri atasözleri ve deyimlerden meydana gelmiştir.
We have a lot of works of art written for advising. These works of art called as “nasihat-nâme” are the values that aim to enlighten people and statesmen in morals, to regulate social behaviors and to make them virtuous. They are written in verse miscellaneous or in both. Pend-nâme by Güvâhî caries these characteristics, too. Proverbs forms almost one third of the whole script. Pend-nâme by Güvâhî written in 16th century is an art work of verse. This work is among the ones that included proverbs much more than the others. One third of the work is composed of proverbs and idioms.
