Tanbatır adlı Tatar masalı, kahramanlık, adalet ve toplumsal ilişkiler gibi evrensel temaları zengin bir biçimde içermesi nedeniyle bu makalede inceleme konusu olarak seçilmiştir. Masal, okuyucuya hem bireysel erdemler hem de toplumsal normlar çerçevesinde anlam üretme ve yorumlama imkânı sunmaktadır. Metnin olay örgüsünde, kahraman Tanbatır’ın karşılaştığı güçlükler, verdiği ahlaki kararlar ve toplumsal normlarla etkileşimleri üzerinden bireysel özgürlük, sorumluluk ve etik değerlerin işlendiği görülmektedir. İleti dizin taraması perspektifinden değerlendirildiğinde, masalda yer alan karakterler, olaylar ve temalar, toplumsal söylem ve kültürel normların yansımaları olarak okunabilir. Örneğin, Tanbatır’ın olağanüstü yaratıklarla mücadelesi ve aldığı yardımlar, bireyin özgüven ve dayanışma gibi çok katmanlı psiko-sosyal gelişimini ortaya koymaktadır. Masaldaki sosyolojik iletiler; adaletin sağlanması, aile içi çekişmeler, kardeş kavgası, haksız otoritenin sorgulanması, toplumsal cinsiyet rolleri ve karşılıklılık gibi kavramları görünür kılmaktadır. Ekonomik iletiler ise bireylerin maddi kaynaklar bağlamında iktidar-halk ilişkilerini, evlilik gibi mekanizmalar üzerinden gerçekleşen sınıf atlama ve bireyler arası güç ilişkilerini anlamalarına katkı sağlamaktadır. Doğaüstü ve mistik unsurlar, kahramanın cesaret, strateji ve sabır gibi erdemlerini öne çıkarırken; mitik zaman ve mekân kullanımı, kutsal ile profan arasındaki sınırları sembolize etmektedir. Sonuç olarak Tanbatır masalı, ileti dizin taraması yöntemiyle incelendiğinde, bireysel kimlik inşası ile toplumsal normların eleştirel değerlendirilmesine olanak tanıyan çok boyutlu bir kültürel metin olarak öne çıkmakta; folklorun hem eğitsel hem de toplumsal işlevlerine gönderimde bulunmaktadır.
Tanbatır, a Tatar folk tale, has been selected as the subject of this study due to its rich incorporation of universal themes such as heroism, justice, and social relations. The tale offers readers the opportunity to construct meaning and interpretation within the framework of both individual virtues and social norms. Within the narrative structure, it is evident that individual freedom, responsibility, and ethical values are explored through the challenges faced by the hero Tanbatır, his moral decisions, and his interactions with social norms. When evaluated from the perspective of message index analysis, the characters, events, and themes in the tale can be interpreted as reflections of social discourse and cultural norms. For instance, Tanbatır’s struggle with supernatural creatures and the assistance he receives reveal the individual’s multi-layered psychosocial development, including self-confidence and solidarity. The sociological messages in the tale make visible concepts such as the establishment of justice, intra-family conflicts, sibling rivalry, the questioning of unjust authority, gender roles, and reciprocity. The economic messages, on the other hand, contribute to understanding power relations between rulers and the people, as well as class mobility—achieved through mechanisms such as marriage—and interpersonal power dynamics within the context of material resources. Supernatural and mystical elements highlight the hero’s virtues such as courage, strategy, and patience, while the use of mythic time and space symbolizes the boundaries between the sacred and the profane. In conclusion, when analyzed through the method of message index analysis, the tale of Tanbatır emerges as a multidimensional cultural text that enables both the construction of individual identity and the critical evaluation of social norms, thereby pointing to the educational and social functions of folklore.
