Bu çalışma, heykel sanatında erotizmin tarihsel kökenlerini ve çağdaş yorumlarını inceleyerek, bedenin sanatsal temsili üzerinden erotizmin evrilen anlamlarını çözümlemektedir. Nitel araştırma yöntemleriyle, betimsel ve görsel analiz teknikleri kullanılarak, Antik dönemlerden günümüze erotizmin sanattaki çok katmanlı varlığı ele alınmıştır. Özellikle 20. yüzyıl sonrasında, Freudyen psikanaliz ve toplumsal cinsiyet kuramlarının etkisiyle erotizmin yalnızca fiziksel arzu temsili olmaktan çıkarak psikolojik, politik ve varoluşsal boyutlar kazanması vurgulanmaktadır. Araştırma, Auguste Rodin, Louise Bourgeois ve Jeff Koons gibi sanatçıların eserlerindeki erotik öğelerin dönüşümünü incelerken, çağdaş sanatçı Sarah Lucas'ın pratiğine odaklanmaktadır. Lucas'ın eserleri, mizah, ironi ve gündelik nesnelerin kullanımıyla cinsiyet rollerine ve bedenin metalaşmış algısına meydan okuyan provokatif bir dil sunar. Çalışma, erotizmin çağdaş heykelde bedenin toplumsal, cinsel ve bireysel kimliklerle ilişkisini sorgulayan eleştirel bir araç olarak nasıl işlev gördüğünü ortaya koymaktadır. Bu kapsamda, heykel sanatındaki erotik dilin sadece estetik bir olgu değil, aynı zamanda kültürel ve toplumsal eleştirinin güçlü bir ifadesi olduğu sonucuna varılmaktadır.
This study examines the historical origins and contemporary interpretations of eroticism in sculpture, analyzing the evolving meanings of eroticism through the artistic representation of the body. Utilizing qualitative research methods, descriptive and visual analysis techniques, the multifaceted presence of eroticism in art from ancient times to the present day is explored. Since the late 20th century, under the influence of Freudian psychoanalysis and gender theory, eroticism has increasingly been understood not merely as a representation of physical desire, but as a phenomenon with psychological, political, and existential dimensions. While the research investigating the transformation of erotic elements in the works of artists such as Auguste Rodin, Louise Bourgeois, and Jeff Koons, it focuses specifically on the contemporary artist Sarah Lucas's practice. Lucas’s works, through humor, irony, and the use of everyday objects, present a provocative language challenging gender roles and the commodified perception of the body. The study reveals how eroticism functions as a critical tool in contemporary sculpture, questioning the body's relationship with social, sexual, and individual identities. Consequently, it is concluded that the erotic language in sculpture is not merely an aesthetic phenomenon but also a powerful expression of cultural and social critique.
