Bu çalışma, Türkiye Turizm Stratejisi 2023 kapsamında, 2007 eylem planında belirlenen yedi tematik turizm gelişim koridorundan biri olan Güney Marmara Zeytin Koridorundaki kültür turizmi potansiyelini belirlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu çalışma kapsamında, Güney Marmara Zeytin Koridoruna yönelik bütüncül bir yaklaşım benimsenerek somut kültürel miras değerlerini kapsayan bir kültür rotası önerisi sunulmuştur. Keşifsel bir özellik taşıyan bu nitel çalışmada doküman analizi aracılığıyla valilik, kaymakamlık, belediye, il kültür ve turizm müdürlükleri gibi kurumsal web sitelerinden elektronik veriler ve buna ek olarak literatür taraması aracılığıyla ikincil veriler toplanmıştır. Çalışmadan elde edilen bulgular, koridorun zengin somut kültürel miras değerlerine sahip olduğunu ve güçlü bir kültür turizmi potansiyeline sahip olduğunu göstermektedir. Koridorda yer alan destinasyonların kültürel miras zenginlikleriyle beraber farklı turistik çekiciliklere de sahip olmaları, önerilen kültür rotasında yurtiçi ve yurtdışı ilgi çekici turların organize edilebileceğine işaret etmektedir. Sürdürülebilir bir turizm yaklaşımıyla önerilen kültür rotasının etkin iş birlikleri ile hayata geçirilmesi, kültürel miras değerlerinin korunması yönünde itici bir güç olabileceği gibi bölgenin tanınmasına ve turizm hareketlerinin canlanmasına da katkı sağlayacaktır.
This study aims to determine the cultural tourism potential of the Olive Corridor of South Marmara, one of the seven thematic tourism development corridors identified in the 2007 action plan, as part of the Türkiye Tourism Strategy 2023. Within the scope of this study, a holistic approach was adopted towards the Olive Corridor of South Marmara, and a cultural route proposal encompassing tangible cultural heritage values was presented. In this qualitative study, which has an exploratory nature, electronic data were collected through document analysis from institutional websites such as the governor's offices, district governor's offices, municipalities, and provincial directorates of culture and tourism. Additionally, secondary data were gathered through a literature review. The study's findings indicate that the corridor possesses rich tangible cultural heritage values and strong cultural tourism potential. The fact that the destinations within the corridor have cultural heritage richness and various tourist attractions suggests that engaging domestic and international tours could be organized along the proposed cultural route. Implementing the proposed cultural route with effective collaborations within a sustainable tourism approach could serve as a driving force for the preservation of cultural heritage values and contribute to the recognition of the region and the revitalization of tourism activities.
