Günümüzde popüler bir mecra olarak konumlanan dini- tasavvufi anlatılar kitle iletişim araçları vasıtasıyla yeniden üretilerek değişim ve dönüşüm yaşamaktadır. Gösteri çağıyla beraber, sinema başta olmak üzere geleneksel ve alternatif medya platformlarında din ve tasavvufa içkin filmler, diziler, belgeseller ve programlar çekilmekte kutsala ilişkin söylem, imaj, sembol ve motiflerin yoğun olarak işlendiği görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada; kendine özgü tarzı ve müziğiyle postmodern ozan imajı sunan Mabel Matiz’in Toy klibinde tasavvuf anlatısının nasıl sunulduğu incelenmiştir. Klip çözümlenmesinde göstergebilimsel yöntem dikkate alınmış; video klibinin genel betimlenmesi ve anlatı yapısı ortaya konmuş ardından temel anlatının inşa edildiği kişi, mekân, şarkı sözleri ve temel zıtlıklar analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmada metinlerarası göndermelerden yararlanarak görsel ve işitsel unsurların tasavvuf söylemini yeniden üreterek yücelttiği tespit edilmiştir. Tanrısal hikâyenin sinematografik anlatıyla kurgulandığı klipte, bireyin yaşam-ölüm ikiliği tasavvuf mertebeleri üzerinden sunulmuştur. Tasavvuf temasının konu edinildiği anlatılarda temel karşıtlıklardan biri olarak kullanılan bu ikilik sayesinde genel olarak ‘araf’ta kalmaya ilişkin anlamların üretildiği görülmektedir. Video klibindeki görseller ve göstergelerden hareketle bu karşıtlıkta Mabel Matiz’in dolayısıyla tüm insanların varoluş mücadelesi temsil edilmektedir. Ayrıca videoda; Platon’un ‘mağara alegorisi’nden, Ingmar Bergman’a, semazen gösterilerinden hareketle Mevlana’dan, Fuzuli’nin ‘leyla ile mecnun’ mesnevisine buradan ise ‘gel gör beni aşk neyledi’ felsefesini düstur edinen Yunus Emre’ye kadar birçok önemli şahsiyetlerin sözleri, kavramları ve anlatılarına dair göstergelerin ve kodların kullanıldığı görülmektedir.

In the present day, religious and Sufizm narratives, positioned as a popular medium, are undergoing change and transformation through reproduction via mass media. With the age of spectacle, films, series, documentaries, and programs intrinsic to religion and Sufism are being produced on traditional and alternative media platforms, particularly in cinema. It is observed that discourse, imagery, symbols, and motifs related to the sacred are extensively explored in these productions. In this study, the presentation of Sufi narrative in Mabel Matiz's "Toy" music video, characterized by its unique style and music as a postmodern bard figure, has been examined. The semiotic method was considered in the analysis of the music video, where the general description and narrative structure of the video clip were outlined. Subsequently, an analysis of the characters, settings, song lyrics, and fundamental contrasts, upon which the narrative is built, was conducted. The study identified that by utilizing intertextual references, the visual and auditory elements recontextualize and elevate the discourse of Sufism, thereby reproducing it in a novel form. In the video where the divine story is constructed through cinematographic narrative, the duality of life and death is presented through the stages of Sufism. In narratives that address the theme of Sufism, this duality is commonly used as a fundamental opposition, through which meanings related to being in the 'araf' are generally generated. Based on the visuals and symbols in the music video, Mabel Matiz's and thus all individuals' struggle for existence is represented within this duality. Additionally, in the music video, indicators and codes related to the words, concepts, and narratives of many significant figures such as Plato's 'Allegory of the Cave', Ingmar Bergman, the whirling dervish performances leading to Mevlana, Fuzuli's 'Leyla and Mecnun' epic, and from there to Yunus Emre, who adopts the philosophy of 'come, see what love has done to me', are used.
