Kent kimliğinin sergilendiği, kent yaşamının aktarıldığı, kültürlerarası etkileşimin sağlandığı mekânı oluşturan kentte müzeler bulunmaktadır. Müzeler geçmiş döneme ait eserlerin toplanması, sergilenmesi ve muhafaza edilmesi görevini üstlenmiştir. Tokat, Orta Karadeniz Bölgesinin önemli şehirlerinden biridir. Tokat dini ve sivil yapı açısından kültürel miras açısından oldukça zengin bir il merkezidir. Özellikle Cumhuriyetin ilanından sonra Tokat kent merkezinde her alanda olduğu gibi mimari alanda da gelişmeler yaşanmıştır. Bu bağlamda kültürel miras kenti olan Tokat, müzecilik açısından önde gelen kentlerden biridir. Tokat'ta mevcut konutların bir kısmı müze, sanat galerisi ve farklı el sanatlarının sergilendiği merkez olarak kullanılmaktadır. Batılılaşmanın toplumdaki etkileri mimari özelliklere yansımış olsa da Tokat genelinde geleneksel konut mimarisi özelliklerini koruyan evler inşa edilmiştir. Geleneksel konutlar genellikle kent dokusunun olduğu yerde yoğunlaşmaktadır. Konutlar kentsel sit alanı içerisinde yer almaktadır. Ozanlar Edebiyat Müzesi Kütüphanesi bu geleneksel konutlardan biridir. Bugün restore edilen binanın alt katı müze ve sanat galerisi, üst katı ise okuma salonu ve kütüphane olarak kullanılacaktır. Çalışma üç aşamadan oluşmaktadır. İlk aşamada genel olarak müzelerden ve müze evlerden söz edilmiştir. İkinci aşamada geleneksel Anadolu ve Tokat evlerinin genel mimari özellikleri incelenmiştir. Üçüncü aşamada ise araştırmanın ana konusu olan Ozanlar Edebiyatı Müzesi Kütüphanesi'nin mimari ve dekoratif özellikleri incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bugün müze ve kütüphane olarak kullanılacak olan yapı, kültürel miras açısından önem taşımaktadır. Yapının bu şekilde fonksiyon olarak yeniden kullanılması turizm açısından da önem kazanmaktadır. Müze kütüphane ve geleneksel konut ilişkisi bağlamında çok yönlü bir bakış açısıyla ele alınan bu çalışmanın yöresel ve yerel mimarisi ile müzecilik alanındaki çalışmalara katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

Museum in the city which constitute the space where the urban identity is exhibited, the city life is transferred, and intercultural interaction is provided. Museums have undertaken the task of collecting, exhibiting and preserving works belonging to the past period. Tokat is one of the important cities of the Central Black Sea Region. Tokat is a very rich city center in terms of cultural heritage in terms of religious and civil structure. Especially later the proclamation of the Republic, there have been developments in the architectural field as in every area in the city center of Tokat. In this context, Tokat which is a cultural heritage city, is one of the leading cities in terms of museology. Some of the current residences in Tokat are used as museums, art galleries and centers where different handicrafts are exhibited. Although the effects of westernization in the society are reflected in the architectural features, houses that preserve the characteristics of traditional residential architecture have been built throughout Tokat. Traditional residences are generally concentrated in the urban fabric. The residences are located within the urban protected area. These traditional is one of the Ozanlar literatüre museum library. The building has been restored today and the lower floor will be used as a museum and art gallery, and the upper floor will be used as reading rooms and a library. The study consists of three stages. In the first phase, museums and museum houses were generally mentioned. In the second phase, traditional Anatolian and Tokat houses were mentioned. In the third phase, the architectural and decorative features of the poets literature museum library, which is the main subject of the research, were tried to be examined. The building which will be used as a museum and library today, is significant in terms of cultural heritage. The reuse of the building as a function in this way is also gaining importance in terms of tourism. It is thought that this study, which is dealt with in the context of the relationship between museum and library and traditional housing, with a broadly versatile perspective, will contribute to studies on vernacular and local architecture and in the field of museology.
