1937 yılında Tunceli’de meydana gelen ve yakın tarihimizde Dersim İsyanı veya Dersim Olayları olarak ünlenen hadiseler günümüze kadar birçok çalışmanın konusunu teşkil etmiştir. Olayların yaşandığı günden itibaren gerek ulusal gerekse yerel gazetelerde işlenen konu sonraki zamanlarda akademik veya popüler tarih araştırmalarında da ilgi duyulan bir saha olmuştur. 1937 yılında yayımlanan Adana yerel gazeteleri de konuyu gündemine almıştır. Adana’da yayımlanan Türk Sözü ve Yeni Adana gazetelerinde Seyit Rıza İsyanı dikkatle takip edilmiş, hadiselerle ilgili çok sayıda haber yapılmış, ayrıca birçok köşe yazısı kaleme alınmıştır. Bu makalede, 1937 yılında yaşanan Seyit Rıza İsyanının Adana yerel gazetelerindeki algılanış biçimi ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın ana kaynaklarını Adana’da 1937 yılında yayımlanan yerel gazetelerden Türk Sözü ve Yeni Adana gazete koleksiyonları oluşturmaktadır. Bunların yanında ihtiyaç duyuldukça konuyla ilgili akademik ve güncel çalışmalardan da istifade edilmiştir. Adana yerel gazetelerinde konunun işlenişinin sıhhatini anlamak için akademik ve güncel çalışmalardan yararlanmak bir zorunluluktur. Çalışmada önce Seyit Rıza İsyanının gelişimi zaman dizimine uygun olarak Adana yerel gazetelerindeki akisleri mercek altına alınmıştır. Bu aşamadan sonra Adana yerel gazetelerine göre Seyit Rıza İsyanının nedenleri incelenmiştir. Son olarak devletin Tunceli halkına yaklaşımı yine Adana yerel gazetelerine göre merkeze alınarak değerlendirilmiştir.1937 yılında Adana’da yayımlanan yerel gazetelerin, Seyit Rıza İsyanını detaylı denilebilecek düzeyde takip ettiği görülmüştür. Çalışma sonucunda Tunceli’de aşiret ağalarının cahil halkı kullanarak bir isyan girişiminde bulunduğu, devletin bu isyanı bastırmak için harekete geçtiği sosyal ve ekonomik tedbirler başta olmak üzere birçok tedbirin devlet tarafından hızla alındığı ve Seyit Rıza’nın teslim olmasının ardından isyanın bastırıldığı sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır. Adana basınında Dersimlilerin Türk kökenli olduğuna vurgu yapılması özellikle dikkat çekmektedir.

The events that took place in Tunceli in 1937 and became famous as the Dersim Rebellion or the Dersim Events in our recent history have been the subject of many studies until today. The subject, which has been covered in both national and local newspapers since the day the events took place, has become a field of interest in academic or popular history researches in later times. Adana local newspapers published in 1937 also put the issue on their agenda. Seyit Rıza Rebellion was carefully followed in Türk Sözü and Yeni Adana newspapers published in Adana, many news were made about the events, and many columns were also written. In this article, the perception of the Seyit Rıza Rebellion in 1937 in Adana local newspapers is discussed. The main sources of the study are Türk Sözü and Yeni Adana newspaper collections, which are local newspapers published in Adana in 1937. In addition to these, academic and current studies on the subject were also utilized when needed. It is a necessity to benefit from academic and current studies in order to understand the soundness of the treatment of the subject in Adana local newspapers. In the study, the development of the Seyit Rıza Rebellion, in accordance with the timeline, its reflections in the local newspapers of Adana were examined. After this stage, the reasons for the Seyit Rıza Rebellion were examined according to Adana local newspapers. Finally, the approach of the state to the people of Tunceli was evaluated by taking the Adana local newspapers to the center again. It was seen that the local newspapers published in Adana in 1937 followed the Seyit Rıza Rebellion in detail. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the tribesmen in Tunceli attempted a revolt by using the ignorant people, the state took action to suppress this revolt, and many measures were taken quickly by the state, especially the social and economic measures, and the revolt was suppressed after Seyit Rıza surrendered. The emphasis in the Adana press that the people of Dersim are of Turkish origin draws attention.
