Bu çalışmanın amacı hekim bağlılığının nedenlerinin incelenmesidir. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemi ve fenomenoloji deseninden yararlanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanmış yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır.  Kronik hastalığı bulunan ve düzenli hekime gitmesi gereken 15 katılımcıyla araştırma yürütülmüştür. Katılımcıların belirlenmesinde amaçlı örneklem ve kartopu örnekleme yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Hekim bağlılığı olgusu bireylerin hekime uzun süredir gitme gerekçesi, hekimin benimsenmesi için ön koşullar ve benimsenen hekimlerin ayırt edici özellikleri olmak üzere üç ana tema çerçevesinde incelenmiştir. Hekime uzun süredir gitme gerekçesi teması altında on sekiz alt tema ortaya çıkmıştır. Hekimin benimsenmesi için ön koşullarda yedi alt tema ve benimsenen hekimin ayırt edici özelliklerinde ise on alt tema elde edilmiştir. Bağlılık sürecinde hekimin uzmanlık bilgisi, tedavi sürecindeki başarısı kadar hekimin hastalarla kurduğu iletişimin de önemli olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Hastaların hekimden uzmanlık bilgisi, başarılı bir tedavi süreci beklentileri hekim bağlılığında önemli olsa da hekimin hastaya değer vermesi, açıklayıcı bilgilerde bulunması, hastayı bir hastalık olarak görmemesi, ulaşılabilir olması, güven duygusu, tedavi sonrası iletişim gibi çıkan birçok alt temanın iletişimin önemine vurgu yapması bireylerin asıl beklentilerinin hekimle kurduğu iyi bir iletişim olduğunu göstermektedir. Kısaca hekim bağlılığı için hekimin hastayı hem fiziken hem de ruhen tedavi etmesi gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır. Bu çalışma için Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Etik Kurulunun E-87432956-050.99-29668 numaralı, 04.03.2021 tarihli ve 49/5 sayılı kararı ile “etik kurul onayı” alınmıştır. Çalışma, Helsinki Deklarasyonu Prensipleri’ne uygun olarak yapılmıştır.

The aim of this study is to examine the reasons for patients’ loyalty to own physician. Qualitative research method and phenomenology pattern were used in the study. A semi-structured interview form prepared by the researchers was used for data collection. The study was conducted with 15 participants who have chronic diseases and need to go to the doctor regularly. Purposive sampling and snowball sampling methods were used to determine the participants. The phenomenon of physician commitment has been examined within the framework of three main themes: the reasons for going to the physician for a long time, the prerequisites for the adoption of the physician, and the distinctive features of the physicians adopted. Eighteen sub-themes emerged under the theme of the reason for going to the doctor for a long time. Seven sub-themes were obtained in the prerequisites for the adoption of the physician and ten sub-themes were obtained in the distinctive features of the adopted physician. It has been revealed that in the loyalty process the physician's expertise is as important as the physician's communication with the patients as well as the success in the treatment process. Although patients' specialist knowledge from the physician and expectations of a successful treatment process are important in physician commitment, many sub-themes such as the physician's valuing the patient, providing explanatory information, not seeing the patient as a disease, being accessible, feeling of trust, and communication after treatment emphasize the importance of communication, shows that their expectations are a good communication with the physician. In short, it was concluded that for patients loyalty to physicians, the physician should treat the patient both physically and spiritually. For this study, the “approval of the ethics committee” was obtained by the decision of the Ethics Committee of Süleyman Demirel University Health Sciences E-87432956-050.99-29668 numbered, dated 04.03.2021 and numbered 49/5. The study was conducted in accordance with the Principles of the Helsinki Declaration.
