Sanat bir ifade etme biçimidir. Bu ifade etme sürecinde estetik kaygı temelli farklı malzemeler kullanılabilmekte ve bu malzemeler de farklı sanat dallarının ortaya çıkmasına sebep olmaktadır. Her ne kadar malzemeleri birbirinden farklı olsa da her bir sanat dalı, aynı amaç doğrultusunda kendine özgü sanat eserleri ortaya koymaktadır. Sanat dallarına resim, müzik, dans, edebiyat vb. örnek olarak verilebilmektedir. İlk insanlardan günümüz modern yaşamına kadar bu sanat dalları, teknolojinin ve dönemim özelliklerine göre yapısal gelişmeler göstermektedir. Özellikle Rönsesans’ tan itibaren hızlı ilerlemelerin olduğu tüm sanat dallarında, 19. yüzyıl sonu ile 20. yüzyıl başlarında büyük gelişmeler olmuştur. Bu gelişmelerden biri de farklı sanat dallarının birbirinin biçim ve içerik özelliklerinden etkilenerek yeni ve özgün eserler ortaya koymasıdır. Bunlara en güzel örnek resim-müzik ilişkisidir. Resim-müzik ilişkisi konusuna özel bir ilgisi olan Fransız ressam Henri Matisse resimlerinde müziksel yapılanma arayışlarında bulunmuştur. Nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum çalışması ile şekillendirilen bu araştırmanın amacı Henri Matisse’ in resimlerinden olan “Dans” ve “Müzik” resimlerindeki müziksel öğelerin incelenmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda literatür detaylı bir şekilde incelenmiş ve ilgili resimlerde akor, legato, staccato, orkestrasyon ve kontrpuan olmak üzere beş farklı müziksel öğe olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu öğelerin somutlaştırılması için araştırmacı tarafından uzman görüşleri alınarak müziksel yazım örnekleri sunulmuştur. Resimlerin müzik ile yeniden ifade edilmesinin diğer araştırmacıların dikkatini çekeceği ve sanat alanına katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

Art is a form of expression. In this expression process, different materials based on aesthetic concern can be used and these materials cause different branches of art to emerge. Although the materials are different from each other, each branch of art creates its own unique works of art for the same purpose. Art branches such as painting, music, dance, literature etc. From the first people to today's modern life, these branches of art show structural developments according to the characteristics of technology and the period. Especially in all branches of art where rapid progress has been made since the Renaissance, there have been great developments at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. One of these developments is that different branches of art are influenced by each other's form and content features and produce new and original works. The best example of these is the painting-music relationship. The French painter Henri Matisse, who has a special interest in the relationship between painting and music, sought musical structuring in his paintings. The purpose of this research shaped by case study, one of the qualitative research designs, is to examine the musical elements in Henri Matisse's paintings "Dance" and "Music". For this purpose, the literature has been examined in detail and it has been determined that there are five different musical elements in the related paintings, namely chord, legato, staccato, orchestration and counterpoint. In order to embody these elements, musical writing samples were presented by the researcher by taking expert opinions. It is thought that re-expressing the paintings with music will attract the attention of other researchers and contribute to the field of art.
