Kültürel mirasın korunması ve yaşatılabilmesi için yapılması gereken ilk çalışma, bu mirası oluşturan değerlerin araştırılması ve envanterlerinin çıkarılmasıdır. Yapılan tespit ve gözlemlerden sonra geliştirilen stratejiler, koruma sürecinin en önemli bileşenlerini oluşturmaktadır. Kapsamlı ve sürdürülebilir bir koruma ise karar vericilerin, somut kültür varlığı niteliği taşıyan yapıların sahiplerinin ve koruma çalışmalarını yapacak mimarlık ve ilgili meslek gruplarından kişilerin kültürel mirasın korunması konusunda eğitilmeleri ve koruma çalışmalarının niteliklerinin arttırılması ile mümkündür. Bu bağlamda, yerel mimarlık eserlerinin belgelenmesi ve korunması konusunda yapılan akademik çalışma ve araştırmalar, anıtsal nitelikli yapılar kadar ilgi görmeyen kırsal mimarinin tespiti ve koruma önerilerinin geliştirilmesi açısından büyük önem taşımaktadır. Çoğu zaman yerel mimaride kullanılan yapım tekniğinin anlaşılması, mevcut yapılara ait ayrıntılı inceleme ve belgeleme çalışmalarının yapılması ile mümkün olabilmektedir. Yapılar tescillenmiş olsa bile, sürece bağlı olarak yıkılmaları ya da fiziksel deformasyonların artması durumunda özgün değerleri yok olmaya başlamaktadır. Farklı yerleşimlerde yaşayan insanların, çevredeki doğal kaynakları yerel gelenekler ve ihtiyaçlar doğrultusunda değerlendirerek, bulunduğu yere göre değişkenlik gösteren yapım sistemlerini geliştirdikleri bilinmektedir. Bu görüşe örnek olarak, Akseki- İbradı havzasında geliştirilen ve bölgeye özgü bir yapı geleneğini yansıtan “düğmeli” yapım sistemi verilebilir. Bu araştırma sırasında, Akseki, Belenalan Köyünün yerel mimari özellikleri ve köyde yer alan yapılarla ilgili incelemeler ve değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır. Korunması gerekli kültürel miras niteliğine sahip bir evin mimari karakteri incelenmiş olup, çalışma kapsamında edinilen bilgiler, yapılan tespitler ve üretilen bazı çizimler araştırmacılarla paylaşılmıştır.

The first thing to be done for sustaining and preservation of cultural heritage is to investigate the values that create the heritage and to make the inventory. The strategies developed after inventory and monitoring studies made are the most important components of the preservation process. Comprehensive and sustainable preservation is possible by educating and supporting decision-makers, owners of tangible cultural assets and the architects and related professional groups who will carry out conservation studies of cultural heritage and increasing the quality of conservation activities. In this context, academic studies and researches on the documentation and preservation of vernacular architecture are of great importance for the documentation and preservation of rural architecture that is not interesting as monumental buildings. The construction technique, which is often used in vernacular architecture, is mostly possible to understand with detailed examination and documentation of the existing buildings. Even if the structures have been registered, the original values of the structure begin to disappear due to their collapse or the increase of physical deformations. It is known that people living in different settlements have developed construction systems that vary according to their location by evaluating the natural resources in the environment in line with local traditions and needs. The “buttoned” construction system developed in the Akseki-İbradı basin, reflecting a region-specific building tradition can be given as an example to this view. During this research, the local architectural features of Akseki, Belenalan Village and the buildings in the village have been examined and evaluated. The architectural character of a house that has to be protected has been examined and the information obtained, the determinations made and some drawings produced have been shared with the researchers.
