Araştırmada, Sutton, Schonert - Reichl, Wu ve Lawlor (2017) tarafından geliştirilen “Çocuklar İçin Öz Şefkat Ölçeği”nin (ÇÖŞÖ) Türkçeye uyarlama çalışmasının yapılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda veriler, 8-12 yaş grubu ilkokul ve ortaokula devam eden 424 öğrenciden toplanmıştır. Ölçek; farkındalık, benlik kavramı, psikolojik uyum ve empati gibi kavramlarla ilgili olumlu ve olumsuz anlam içeren on iki maddeden oluşmaktadır. Öncelikle ölçeğin dilsel eşdeğerliğe sahip olduğu görüldükten sonra geçerlik ve güvenirlik analizleri yapılmıştır. Yapılan doğrulayıcı faktör analizinde ölçeğin orijinal formla uyumlu olduğu ve ölçeğin Cronbach Alfa katsayısının .81 olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Olumlu ve olumsuz anlam içeren alt boyutlardan pozitif öz şefkat için Cronbach Alpha değeri .83, negatif öz şefkat için Cronbach Alpha değeri .71 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Geçerlik için yapılan doğrulayıcı faktör analizi, geliştirilen ‘Çocuklar İçin Öz Şefkat Ölçeği’nin 8-12 yaş grubu öğrencileri için geçerli ve güvenilir olduğunu göstermiştir.
This study aims to adapt the Self-Compassion Scale for Children(ÇÖSÖ) developed by Sutton, Schonert - Reichl, Wu and Lawlor (2017) into Turkish. For this purpose, data were collected from 424 students attending primary school and secondary school in 8-12 age group. The scale consists of twelve items with positive and negative meaning related to concepts such as awareness, self-concept, psychological adjustment and empathy. Firstly, validity and reliability analyses were performed after the scale was found to have linguistic equivalence. In the confirmatory factor analysis, it was found that the scale was compatible with the original form and the Cronbach Alpha coefficient of the scalewas found to be 81. According to the sub-dimensions of positive and negative meaning, Cronbach Alpha value was calculated as 83 for positive self-compassion, and Cronbach Alpha value was calculated as 71 for negative self-compassion. Confirmatory factor analysis for validity showed that the 'Self-Compassion Scale for Children' was valid and reliable for 8-12 age group students.
