Çöp, sosyal bilimler alanında gittikçe önem kazanan bir konu. Çevre sorunları ile birlikte çöp/atık daha çok gündeme gelmektedir. Küreselleşmenin yoğunlaşması, iklim değişimi gibi kaçınılması gittikçe zorlaşan çevre felaketlerinin gelişi gibi insanın varoluşunu etkileyecek olaylar, doğrudan veya dolaylı bir şekilde çöp ile bağlantılıdır. Çöp/atık küresel ticarete konu olan bir meta olmasının yanı sıra aslında büyük bir çevre ve sağlık sorunudur. Çöpün günümüzde sorun hale gelmesinin nedeni “doğal” ve doğal olmayan çöplerin aşırı artışıdır. Sorunu yaratan bu durumda aşırı üretim, tüketim ve doğaya zarar veren üretim tarzıdır. Var olan ekonomik sistem, kendi yarattığı soruna yine kendi içinde ve mantığı çerçevesinde çözümler üretmeye çalışmaktadır. Çevre ve sağlık sorununu yaratan çöp, bir sonuçtur. Bu sonucu değiştirebilmek onun neden kaynaklandığını bilmekle mümkündür. İnsan var olduğu ilk dönemlerde kendi yaşam döngüsü içinde ekolojik dengeyle uyumlu bir şekilde yaşamıştır. Zamanla dünyanın doğal dengesini bozacak bir yaşam tarzı geliştirmiştir.Çalışmanın amacı çöpün sorun olmaktan çıkarılmasının nasıl mümkün olabileceğinin irdelenmesidir. Onun için çöp, üretim ve tüketim ilişkisi bağlamında ele alınmaktadır. Eleştirel ekonomi politik yaklaşımın bu ilişkiyi açıklayabilmektedir. Çöpü “atık” haline getirmek çok kısıtlı ve geçici bir çözümdür. İnsanın doğaya hakim olma fikri ve pratiğinin, kapitalist üretim ilişkileriyle içiçe geçerek birbirini besler bir pozisyona gelmiştir. Asıl çözüm doğa ile uyumlu bir üretim ve tüketim sistemini hayata geçirmektir.

Garbage is an increasingly important topic in the social sciences. Garbage / waste come into question more along with environmental problems. The events that will affect the existence of human beings, such as the intensification of globalization, the arrival of increasingly difficult environmental disasters such as climate change, are directly or indirectly related to garbage. Garbage/waste is a commodity that is subject to global trade as well as a major environmental and health problem. The reason the garbage is becoming a problem nowadays is the excessive increase of "natural" and unnatural garbage. In this case, it is a production style that damages excessive production, consumption and nature. The existing economic system is still in itself and in the framework of its logic to produce solutions The garbage that creates the environment and health problem is a result. It is possible to change the outcome by knowing why it originated. In the early days of human existence, human lived in his own life cycle in harmony with the ecological balance. By the time, a lifestyle that will disrupt the natural balance of the world has developed. The aim of this study is to answer the question of how it exits the problem of garbage. It is addressed in the context of the relationship of waste, production and consumption. The critical political economy approach can explain this relationship. To make garbage "waste" is a very limited and temporary solution. The idea and practice of human dominating nature has become a nourishing position by intermingling with capitalist relations of production. The main solution is to implement a production and consumption system that is compatible with Nature.
