This work is a study to show what the concept of teasing is and how the concept of teasing takes place in the bride and mother-in-law poems. In the scope of the study, first of all, the concept of teasing, which has not much research about it, was emphasized and tried to define the concept of teasing. Later, by examining the examples of the bride and mother-in-law poems, what are the taunting and mocked, which ways of each other are teased by the bride and mother-in-law, reasons and intentions of the teasing of these poems were emphasized and detections have been made. The bride and mother-in-law’s relation has an important place in family relation. The relationship between the bride and the mother-in-law is generally known as a relationship based on the principle of struggle and fighting. This struggle, which started with the feeling of jealousy which the man in the position of wife/son gave by not wanting to share with the other, turned into a race of seeing herself stronger from the other side and establishing authority over the other side. It seems that this struggle has reached to dimensions that can cause unrest within the family and even destruction of the nests. This struggle between the bride and the mother-in-law has been the subject of various works. One of these works is the bride and mother-in-law poems. When bride and mother-in-law poems are examined, it is seen that in this struggle the bride and mother-in-law are teased with each other or with themselves. Aim of teasing fun, bullying or both in poems. Bride and mother-in-law must tease each other to prove she is the superior to have her authority accepted in bride and mother-in-law poems. Brides and mothers-in-law tease each other’s imperfect, incomplete, weak, contradictory physical appearance, personality and behaviors. It seems that the two sides sometimes tease each other open defiantly sometimes ambiguous style in bride and mother-in-law poems.
