Bu araştırmanın amacı 7100 Sayılı Yükseköğretim Kanunu ile bazı kanun ve kanun hükmünde kararnamelerde değişiklik yapılması sonucunda resmi gazetede yayınlanan yeni doçentlik kriterlerine yönelik akademisyenlerin görüşlerini belirlemektir. Araştırma nitel yönteme dayalı yürütülmüştür. Bu kapsamda çalışmaya Fırat Üniversitesi, Bitlis Eren Üniversitesi, Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi, İnönü Üniversitesi ve Erzincan Üniversitesindeki 244 akademisyen katılmıştır. İlgili kavramsal çerçeveye dayanarak araştırmacılar tarafından veri toplamak amacıyla yapılandırılmış ve yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Veriler içerik analizi ve betimsel analiz kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Ayrıca bazı özgün ifadelere yer verilmiştir. Sonuç olarak doçentlik ile ilgili yasal düzenlemeye yönelik görüşlerin oldukça dağınık olduğu, birçok akademisyenin görüş belirtmekten kaçındığı gözlenmektedir. Doçentlik ile ilgili bazı düzenlemeler yapılmakla birlikte doçentlik süreci suiistimale açıktır. Gerek bilimsel çalışmalar ve gerekse atama süreçlerinde objektif olmayan durumların söz konusu olduğu görülmüştür. Ancak edinilen nihai intiba yasal düzenlemenin eksik olduğu yönündedir.
The aim of this research is to determine the opinions of scholars regarding the new associate professor criteria published in the official gazette as a result of amendment of the resolutions in law and law with the Higher Education Law No. 7100. The research was conducted based on qualitative method. Within this scope, opinions of 244 academicians from Fırat University, Bitlis Eren University, Afyon Kocatepe University, İnönü University and Erzincan University were taken into consideration. Based on the relevant conceptual framework, a structured and semi-structured interview form was used by researchers to collect data. The data were analyzed using content analysis and descriptive analysis. There are also some original expressions. As a result, it is observed that opinions about the legal regulation related to associate professorship are rather scattered, and many academicians are reluctant to express their views. Although some regulations have been made about associate professorship, it can be said that the process of associate professorship is open to abuse. It has been found that there are non-objective situations both in the conduct of scientific studies and in the appointment process. However, the ultimate impression taken is that the legal regulation is missing.
