Moving from the Mamluk-Kipchak Dictionaries That Written in Arabic Alphabet The Arabic Terms and Abbreviations Which Rules The Turkish Pronunciation

The Mamluk state was established in Egypt and Syria between 1250 and 1517. This state is composed of slave trade and Kipchak, Oguz, Circassian, Mongol and various elements. Most of them were Kipchaks, the official language of this state has become Turkish. Because the Turks and the Arabs lived in the same region, they were intertwined due to commercial relations and social life and other reasons. In this period Arabic-Turkish dictionaries were written with the Arabic alphabet in order to teach Turkish to Arap people. These dictionaries include language knowledge since the dictionary nature. This work will focus on Arabic terms and abbreviations that govern Turkish pronunciation in Turkish education in the dictionaries written in Arabic alphabet during the period of Memlûk-Kıpçak. In the dictionaries examined, 1. Terms and abbreviations governing pronunciation of Turkish sounds that are not in Arabic 2. Terms and abbreviations that govern the thickness, thinness and contraction pronunciations of Turkish fame will be evaluated under two main headings. In this study, the Turkish dictionaries which are written using Arabic letters that belong to the Mamluk- Kipchak period will be examined and compiled with Arabic terms and symbols that illustrate how to pronunce Turkish words.
