Çok yönlü mesleki hayatı ile tanıdığımız Behiç Ak, gerek bir mimar ve karikatürist olarak gerekse çocuk kitapları ve oyun yazarı olarak çevresel sorunlara duyarlılığı hiçbir zaman elden bırakmaz. Onun bu özelliği özel hayatında da çevre konusunda hassas olması ve çevresel sorunlarla ilgili çeşitli eylemlere katılması ile açıklanabilir. Yazar, çocuk kitaplarında bile güncel çevresel ve toplumsal sorunlara duyarlı çizgisini, yazar olarak sorumluluğunu korur. Aynı tutumu yazdığı tiyatro oyunlarının çoğunda da devam ettirdiği görülür. Yazarın, mimarlık mesleğinin etkisi ile çarpık kentleşme, bunun yanı sıra küresel ısınma, ekolojik dengenin bozulması ve hayvanların neslinin tükenmesi gibi konuları oyunlarına taşıyarak sorunsal haline getirdiği izlenir. Bu bağlamda bu çalışmada yazarın Küçülecek Yer Kalmadı, Benim Küçük Küresel Köyüm ve Tek Kişilik Şehir adlı oyunlarında bu çevreci bakış açısının yansımalarının izleri sürülecek, eko eleştiri yönteminden faydalanılarak yazarın bu oyunları aracılığıyla çevresel sorunlara nasıl yaklaştığı üzerinde durulacaktır. Yazar, Küçülecek Yer Kalmadı adlı oyununda Kadın ve Adam adlı oyun kişileri üzerinden insanların doğaya gereksiz yere müdahalesini, bu müdahale sonunda var olan ekolojik dengenin bozulmasını ve bu müdahaleden kaynaklanan ve aslında ekolojik dengenin bir parçası olan insan sağlığını tehdit eden zararlı sonuçlarını eleştirir. Benim Küçük Küresel Köyüm adlı oyunda ise çevresel problemlere hayvan türlerinin neslinin tükenmesi bağlamında yaklaşan yazar, Lucretsia adlı oyun kişisi üzerinden hayvanları kendi çıkarları için yok eden ve ekolojik dengeyi bozan insanlara eleştiri getirir. Tek Kişilik Şehir’de ise özellikle küresel ısınma sorunu ve bu sorunun iklimler, doğal çevre ve hayvanlar üzerindeki olumsuz etkilerini ele alarak insanların çevresel sorunlara duyarsızlıklarını eleştirir.

Behiç Ak whom we know with his versatile career, never gives up sensitivity to environmental problems whether as an architect and cartoonist or as the writer of children’s books and a playwright. This characteristic of him can be explained with his being sensitive about the environment and attending various protests about environmental problems in his personal life. Even in his children’s books he preserves his sensitive attitude towards current environmental and social problems and his responsibility as a writer. It is seen that he also maintains the same attitude in most of the plays he wrote. It is observed that with the influence of his job as an artcitect, the writer carries subjects as irregular urbanization, as well as global warming, corruption of ecological balance and extinction of animals into his plays and handles them as problems. In this context in this study the traces of the environmentalist viewpoint will be searched in the writer’s plays called Küçülecek Yer Kalmadı, Benim Küçük Küresel Köyüm and Tek Kişilik Şehir, and by using the method of ecocriticism it will be focused on how the writer approached the environmental problems through his plays. The writer in his play Küçülecek Yer Kalmadı, through his characters called Man and Woman, actually criticizes the intervention in the nature unnecessarily; the destruction of already existing ecological balance by this intervention and the harmful results stemming from this intervention and threatening the health of the human being who is a part of the ecological balance indeed. As for his play, Benim Küçük Küresel Köyüm, the writer approaches the environmental problems in relation to the extinction of the animal species and especially through Lucretsia’s words criticizes people who destroy animal species and thus corrupt the ecological balance for their own interest. In his play, Tek Kişilik Şehir, the writer especially handles the subject of global warming and the negative effects of global warming on climates, natural environment and animal species and criticizes the insensitivity of people towards environmental problems.
