Hüseyin Avni (Zaimler) Pasha


Avni Pasha read the Western-style military schools, he completed his school successfully. Your own age, coincides with the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. He gained his first war experience in the Ottoman-Greek war. He was promoted in a short time because of his success in suppressing the rebellions. Constitution was declared as a result of the pressure of union and progress, and returned to the parliamentary system. Avni Pasha was appointed Commander of the monastery Central Army when the Balkans returned to the boiling cauldron. Here, important tasks have been assigned to him in the Implementation of the Law on Gangs. he followed the Serbian, Greek and Bulgarian gangs. Although he was captured by Serbs during the Balkan War, he was soon released. After his release, he was appointed as the head of the position command established for the prisoners in Istanbul. He was appointed as Adana Gendarmerie Regiment Commander on the beginning of the First World War. Following the Occupation of Istanbul, he participated in the National Struggle and then in the first term Saruhan, II. and III. Cebelibereket was elected as Member of Parliament. The main purpose of this study is not only to give the biography of Hüseyin Avni Pasha but also to reveal his activities in parliament , the pains suffered during transition into the Republic and the collapse of the empire. Avni Pasha growing up in a place for military service, took important tasks on putting down the uprisings in the Balkans and thereafter the Armenian uprisings during the World war. Due to his success, he was charged with putting down the uprisings during the war of independence. The aim of this study is both to revise the misinformation about Avni Pasha and to fill the deficiency in literature by discussing and analysing state archives, minute books, memoirs and press sources.
