The playwriting of the 1960s was the place to point up the consequences of political, economic and social changes. In the 60s drama, the efforts of the family institution to face the danger of disintegration and to block the danger of family members have been the subject of plays. The family is the most suitable institution for the smallest building unit of the society for writing dramas. Güner Sümer formed middle class "social types" in the livelihoods of plays written in the 1960s and early 1970s. Güner Sümer’s characterization, typically a small tradesman or civil servant and were condemned to suffer in the life struggle, are drawn in opposite and parallel ways. Types are responsible for the action in the plays. Güner Sümer’s types are in bad action through the influence of economic, social and political conditions and through the directing of people outside the family. Because, there is no other way to survive and keep the family together. Güner’s Sümer types of plays that make robbery, the young girls who are married to the wealthy and the old men, the types that are trapped and clenched between the society and the family, the mothers who struggle all kinds of difficulties for their children, etc. is often encountered in plays. In this examination, the types of Güner Sumer's plays will be determined and classified by using of Sevda Şener's typological approach in the analysis of The Human in Contemporary Turkish Theater.
