Mise-En-Scene of Wes Anderson Movies

In cinema the director has to arrange the items inside the image frame according to a specific order of importance in order to create meaning. Just as every art branch is, the cinema has its own language of expression as an art. It is necessary to master the characteristics of the vehicle in order to understand a cinema filmin. Mizansen and image editing contain two basic techniques of cinema. The mise-en-scene (mise-en-scene), which is a French word, means putting it on the stage and was first used in the theater. This concept is an important term for the organization of the objects in the frame of the camera and includes acting, costume and make-up, decor and space and lighting items. All these items come together to create a cinematic sense. Born in 1969, American director Wes Anderson is one of the most creative Hollywood directors who uniquely combine his mise-en-scene items to create cinematic significance. In this study, the mise-en-scene used by Wes Anderson in the recent films of Rising Moon Kingdom (2012) and Grand Budapest Hotel (2013) will be examined. For this, firstly a systematic approach was adopted and acting, costume and make-up, décor and space and lighting items were examined with a mise-en-scème critique method in the director's films and then it was determined how the items of the mise-ene function in conveying the meanings created in films. Mizansen criticism is based on the suggestion that the director's choice of filmin visual language is not random and that each preference is made for a specific purpose. According to this, Wes Anderson uses the form of the main tool of telling a mystic story in his films as a director, which reveals the artist personality in different ways than the directors of his own generation.
