The Ruler of the Marinide Abu Yusuf Yakup al-Mansur’s suppert for Andalusian Muslims

In this article, it will be mentioned that the sixth sultan of the Marinides, Abu Yusuf Yakup al-Mansur, gives suport to the oppressed Andalusian Muslims in the face of Christian attacks and the mobilization of jihad he has made there. Since the Muslims in Andalusia were exposed to the attack by the Christians, Sultan Abu Yusuf Yakup, who they had called for help, initiated jihad mobilization in Andalusia after solving the problems in his country. For this purpose he has gone to Andalusia four times. Abu Yusuf, who made his first campaign in 674 (1275), defeated the enemy army he met near İstece (Écija). This victory gave the Andalusian spirit a revival, while the other side hoped for a while in Andalusia. Abu Yusuf, who made his second campaign in 677 (1277), established authority in Mâleka (Malaga), with the support of Benit Ashkalle family. This situation was perceived as a domination by the Nasrids in the territory of Andalusia, which forced them to form alliances with the Christians while defeating them with the Marinides. In the meantime, the Marinides have carried out attacks with the intention of putting the troops with Benit Ashkalle on their side and putting pressure on the lands under the dominion of the Kingdom of Castilian. He made his third expedition in 681 (1212) on his own request for help from King Alfonso’s son, whom he had seized the throne for the civil war in the castle of Castilian. As a result, there has been no change in the throne of Castilian when the Nasrids, which had previously been falled out by them, were in peace. In the year 684 (1285), the fourth campaign, which was the strongest military service, provided the conquest of the important fortresses and cities, while at the same time forced King Sancho to have a hefty treaty.
