Kültürün öğelerinden biri olan müzik şüphesiz kültürün gelecek nesillere aktarımında önemli bir role sahiptir. Bu çalışma ile Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı Ortaokul Müzik Dersi Öğretim Programının Türk müzik kültürünü gelecek nesillere aktarmadaki rolü incelenmiştir. Türk Milli Eğitiminin genel amaçlarından biri de kültürel değerleri benimseyen, koruyan, geliştiren bireyler yetiştirmektir. Ayrıca müzik dersi öğretim programında Türk toplumsal-kültürel yaşamına ilişkin belirtiler ve yerel, bölgesel, ulusal ve uluslararası müzik türlerini tanımak şeklinde amaçlar bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada öğretim programının Türk müzik kültürünü gelecek nesillere aktarmadaki yeterliliği 8. sınıf düzeyindeki öğrenci görüşlerine dayanarak tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla 8. sınıf öğrencilerine tarama (survey) yöntemi uygulanmıştır. Hazırlanan 21 soruluk anket ile, araştırmaya destek veren öğrencilerin 8. sınıf düzeyinde milli müzik kültürüne yönelik bilgi düzeyleri ölçülmüştür. Yapılan araştırmanın örneklemini 2016-2017 eğitim-öğretim yılında Kocaeli ili Karamürsel ilçesindeki altı farklı ortaokulda öğrenim gören 8. sınıf öğrencisi toplam 317 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın sonucunda öğrencilerin milli müzik kültürüne yönelik bilgi sorularına yeterli düzeyde doğru cevap veremedikleri, bunun sonucunda da eğitim programının Türk müzik kültürünü aktarmada tam anlamıyla yeterli olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Ortaokul Müzik Dersi Öğretim Programında müzik kültürümüzü yansıtan eserler, bölgesel müzik kimliklerimiz ve uygun örnekleri, aşıklık geleneğimiz, enstrümanlarımız, milli müzik kültürümüzün oluşmasına katkı sunmuş sanatçılarımız ve tarihi şahsiyetlerimiz gibi kültürü yansıtan konuların bulunması gerektiği önerilmiştir.

Music, which is one of the cultural objects, undoubtedly has an important role in the transmission of the culture to future generations. With this study the role of the Secondary School Music Lesson Curriculum, prepared by Ministry of Education, in transferring the Turkish music culture to future generations was examined. One of the general aims of Turkish National Education is to educate individuals who adopt, protect and develop cultural values. In addition, there are aims to familiarize the Turkish socio-cultural life with the local, regional, national and international music genres in the music lesson curriculum. In this study, the proficiency of the teaching program in transferring Turkish musical culture to future generations has been tried to be determined according to the opinions of students at the 8th grade level. For this purpose, a survey method was applied to 8th grade students. With a questionnaire of 21 questions, the level of knowledge of national music culture at the 8th grade level of the students who supported the research was measured. The sample of the research was composed of 317 8th grade students from six different secondary schools in Kocaeli province, Karamürsel district in 2016-2017 Educational Year. As a result of the research, it was determined that the students could not give a sufficient and correct answer to the questions about the national musical culture and that the training program was not fully adequate for the transmission of the Turkish musical culture It has been proposed that the Secondary School Music Lesson Teaching Program should include subjects that reflect our musical culture, our regional music identities and appropriate examples, our minstrelsy tradition, our instruments, our artists who contributed to the formation of national music cultures and our historical personalities.
