Geçmişten günümüze kadar oyunun önemi ile ilgili birçok çalışma yapılmasına rağmen oyuncak için aynı durumun söz konusu olmadığı görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda bu çalışmanın amacı, Kırşehir il merkezindeki bağımsız bir anaokulunda 36-72 aylık çocuğu olan velilerin çocuk oyuncakları konusunda görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Katılımcılar, Kırşehir İl merkezindeki devlete ait bağımsız bir anaokuluna devam eden 36-72 aylık çocuğu olan rastgele seçilmiş 20 veliden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme yöntemi kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Sorular, araştırmacı tarafından velilerle yüz yüze iken, görüşmeci ile görüşenin yalnız olduğu bir ortamda soruların cevapları anında kaydedilmiştir. Ebeveynlerden toplanan veriler içerik analizine tabi tutulmuş ve "Oyuncak tanımı", "Oyuncak seçimi", "Oyuncak algısı" şeklinde üç kategori altında toplanmıştır. Velilerin “Oyuncak nedir?” sorusuna verdiği yanıtlar, oyuncak tanımı başlığı altında yer almıştır. Bulgulara göre sekiz veli oyuncağın eğlendirme, yedi veli eğitici-öğretici olma özelliğini, altı veli susturma-oyalama, dört veli gelişimi destekleme, üç veli oyuna özgü olma, bir veli çocuğa özgü olma özelliklerini vurgulamışlardır. Velilerin “Oyuncak alırken nelere dikkat edersiniz?” sorusuna verdiği yanıtlar oyuncak seçimi başlığı altında yer almıştır. Buna göre 11 veli sağlıklı-zararsız, 10 veli yaşa-gelişime uygun, yedi veli eğitici-öğretici, üç veli renkli, üç veli sağlam-kaliteli, üç veli eğlendirici, iki veli fiyat, bir veli cinsiyet yanıtı vermiştir. Velilerin “Oyuncak denildiğinde aklınıza gelen ilk iki oyuncağı söyler misiniz?” sorusuna verdiği yanıtlar oyuncak algısı başlığı altında yer almıştır. Buna göre 11 veli bebek, yedi veli araba, dört veli yap-boz, üç veli top, iki veli balon, iki veli lego, iki veli mutfak eşyaları, bir veli bilye, bir veli çalgı aletleri, bir veli çıngırak, bir veli zekâ küpü yanıtını vermiştir.

Despite the fact that there are many studies about the importance of the game from the past to the present day, it seems that the same situation is not the case for the toy. In this context, the aim of this study is to examine the views of the parents who have 36-72 months old children, on child’s toys. Qualitative research method was used in the research. Participants consist of 20 randomly selected parents who have children aged 36-72 months, attending an independent kindergarten in Kırşehir Provincial Center. The data of the study were obtained using the semi-structured interview method. The questions were asked by the researcher in the presence of the interviewer and the interviewer was alone, and the answers were recorded immediately. The data collected from the parents were subjected to content analysis and grouped into three categories as "Toy definition", "Toy selection", and "Toy perception". The answers given by the parents in the question "What is a toy?" are presented under the title of “toy definition”. According to findings, eight parents have emphasized the features of toys as entertainment, seven parents being teacher-tutor, six parents silencing-distraction, four parents supporting development, three parents game characteristics, one parent-child characteristics. Responses given by parents to the question "What do you care for when you buy toys?" are presented under the topic of “toy selection”. According to this, 11 parents are healthy-harmless, 10 parents are age-appropriate, seven parents are educator-trainer, three parents are colored, three parents are robust-quality, three parents are entertainment, two parents are price, one parent is gender. Parents' answers to the question "Do you say the first two games that come to your mind when it's called a toy?" is under the title of “toy perception”. According to this, parents answered this question as follows: 11 parents baby, seven parents car, four parents jigsaw, three parents ball, two parents balloons, two parents lego, two parents kitchenware, one parents ball, one parent instrument, one parent rattle, one parent intelligence cube response.
