The Reflections of Turkey's Political Events and Political Views Between 1975-1980

In this article, the political events in Turkey during the period of 1975-1980 and the political newspapers which emerged at that time emphasized the words preferred by people with different ideologies using the language. The right-left events that took place at that time increased the unrest in the society. However, different political groups have used different words for similar concepts. In fact, this situation, which was present in every period, increased a little more depending on the events that took place in 1975-1980 period. The words people speak on the earth are their worldviews, their political ideas, their gaze, thoughts, etc. Gives tips about. We can say that right-wing writers are usually dependent on tradition and therefore prefer the old words. We can say that left-wing authors prefer new words because they are more innovation-oriented. Along with this, ideologies and advocated ideas play an important role in word preferences. But by generalizing, we can not say that every right-wing writer depends on tradition, or that every left-wing writer is innovative, and we can not say that all the words used by the writers are directly proportional to their political views. In order to be able to understand it better, 7 writers (Cumhuriyet, Hürriyet, Milliyet and Tercüman) from 4 newspapers with high circulation at that period of 1975-1980 were selected and tried to reveal the relation between the words used by political views. The words preferred by these authors were given in tabular form, and a comparison on a common table was made, and the connection between ideology and word choice was examined.
