İnsanlar yaşadığı coğrafyaya ait önemli gördükleri kişileri, nesneleri ve mekânları kutsallaştırırlar ve sırrını çözemedikleri konuları çeşitli biçimlerde yorumlar; bunlara, yaşanmış bazı olayları da katıp nesilden nesile aktarırlar. Halk edebiyatı ürünlerinden biri olan efsaneler, geçmişle günümüz arasında kültürel aktarımı sağlayan, insanın ve onun oluşturduğu kültürel yapının anlaşılmasına katkıda bulunan araçlardan biridir. Efsaneler, insan ile insanı, insan ile coğrafyayı, insan ile diğer varlıkları, insan ile maneviyatı birbirine bağlayan unsurlardandır. Olumlu veya olumsuz etkileriyle insan yaşamına yön veren morfolojik unsurlar hem doğa bilimlerine hem de sanat, edebiyat, tarih gibi sosyal bilimlere de konu olmuşlardır. Bu çalışmada 2015 Sosyal Bilgiler dersi öğretim programı incelenmiş ve bu programda geçen sözlü edebiyat ürünlerinden efsanelerin kullanım durumlarına yönelik betimsel bir analiz çalışması yapılmıştır. Yapılan bu çalışmada 2015 Sosyal Bilgiler dersi öğretim programında destan ve masallara yer verilmesine rağmen derslerde efsane kullanımının yeterli düzeyde olmadığı tespit edilmiştir.
Humankind sanctifies the people, objects, and places that they consider important to the geography they live in, and they interpret the things they can not solve their secret in various ways. They also add some events that have been experienced and transmit them to generations. Legends, one of the folk literature products, are one of the fields that provide the cultural transfer between the past and present, and contribute to the understanding of the human and its cultural structure. Legends are one of the elements that link human to human, human to geography, human to other beings, human to the spiritual world. Morphological elements that direct human life with positive or negative effects have been the subject of both natural and social sciences such as art, literature and history. In this study, the curriculum of the Social Studies course of 2015 was examined and a descriptive analysis in this program was conducted on the use of legends which are one of the oral literary products. In this study, it was determined that the use of legends was insufficient although the epics and tales were found in the 2015 Social Studies teaching program.
