Necmettin Erbakan’s Imagination of Sahaba: the Sample of Abu Ayyub Al Ansari

In our study we will deal how Necmettin Erbakan use Sahaba as model on understanding Milli Görüş movement in the example of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari. The example of the Sahaba and bringing bliss century (the times of The Prophet) on agenda is very important in terms of taking attention that the struggle of Truth and Falsehood (al-Haq and al-Batil) goes on. So it can be understood that the Milli Görüş action is not newcomer and it roots on history of Islam. Here the point thet the movement and especially its leader act competible with the example illustrated. And its important for determining the Sahaba imagination of Necmettin Erbakan. Abu Ayyub al-Ansari is an important sahabi whos name and message carried by centuries. His importance and example personality can be seen in lots of his charasteristics. He was one of the firsts who allegianced to the Prophet Muhammad; it is loyalty. His kindness can be seen in his hospitality to Prophet. He was very fond to learning so he went to Egypt to ascertain just one Hadith. Despite his advanced age he came to Istanbul to reach the evangel of Qonquest Hadith. He contributed to Islamization of Anatolia and to keep it Islamic. Necmettin Erbakan took attention to historical events mainly bliss century (the times of The Prophet) the Sahaba and the Muslim leaders. So he showed that he was affiliated to Islam and the Islamic values like faith (iman), loyalty (sadaqat), knowlende (al-ilm) and jihad. Thus he proved that the Milli Görüş action is not a newcomer movement.
