In fact Those Born in 47’ is not a novel about the people born in 1947, but the novel of 68 generation; as the author describes the student protests of 1968 and the torture incidents of those who participated in the demonstrations followed by 12th March of military coup. In order to separate her novel from the other novels portraying March 12 military coup and save it from being categorized as such, Füruzan brings to the foreground the date of birth of 68 generation. The author names her novel after the prevailing roles, generations played in a historical period rather than their dates of birth.
