Bu araştırmanın amacı, resim - iş eğitimi bölümünde öğrenim gören öğretmen adaylarının seramik eğitimi ile ilgili görüşlerini derinlemesine incelemektir. Nitel araştırma desenlerinden biri olan olgubilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın katılımcılarını, 2015 – 2016 eğitim-öğretim yılında Dicle Üniversitesi'nde resim iş eğitimi bölümünde öğrenim gören 11 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada betimsel analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, öğretmen adaylarının çoğu seramik eğitimini hayal gücünü geliştiren bir sanat dalı olarak algılamaktadırlar. Öğretmen adaylarının çoğu, seramik eğitiminin mesleki gelişimlerine etkisi olacağını belirtmişlerdir. Araştırma sonucunda öğretmen adaylarının çoğu fitil ve plaka yöntemlerini kullanacaklarını belirtmişlerdir. Öğretmen adaylarının bu çalışmaları kullanmak istemelerinin nedeni olarak; öğrencilerin gelişim özelliklerine uygun olması, el becerilerini geliştirecekleri, derslerden zevk alacakları, çok çaba gerektirmemesi, hayal dünyalarını geliştireceği, motivasyonlarını arttıracağı, öğrencinin derse katılma isteğinin artacağı, psikomotor becerilerinin gelişeceği, rahat hareket etmelerini sağlayacağı ve yaratıcılıklarını geliştireceği belirtilmiştir. Öğretmen adaylarının çoğu seramik eğitiminin öğrencilerin el becerilerini geliştirdiğini, hayal dünyalarını zenginleştirdiğini ve psikomotor becerilerini geliştirdiğini belirtmişlerdir. Öğretmen adaylarının çoğu seramik eğitiminin ortaokullarda ders olarak verilmesi gerektiğini belirtmiştir. Bu tema altında ise öğretmenlerin çoğu öğrencilerin el becerilerini ve yaratıcılıklarını geliştireceği için seramik eğitimi dersinin ortaokullarda olması gerektiğini belirtmişlerdir. Öğretmenlerin çoğu seramik eğitimin etkili ve verimli olabilmesi için atölye olmalı önerisini geliştirmişlerdir.

The purpose of this study is to examine in depth the opinions of candidate teachers who study at the art teaching department on ceramics education. Phenomenology which is one of the qualitative research designs was used in the study. The participants of the research consist of 11 candidate teachers who are receiving their education during the academic year of 2015–2016 at the Art Teaching Department of Dicle University.From the purposeful sampling methods, criterion sampling method was used in the research. Descriptive analysis was used in the data analysis. As a result of the research, most of the candidate teachers perceive ceramics education as an imagination developing branch of art. Most of the candidate teachers have stated that ceramics education could benefit their professional development.In the research,the opinions of the candidate teachers on which works in relation with ceramics education they will perform when they will be assigned and why they have selected those works was also taken.As a result of the research, most of candidate teachers have indicated that they would use the wick method and plate method. Candidate teachers have indicated that their reason for selecting these methods is their suitability to the development properties of the children,that they would develop their manual skills,take pleasure from the lessons, that it would not require much effort,develop their imagination, increase their motivation and wish to participate to the courses, that their psychomotor skills would develop, that it would enable them to act comfortably and their creativity would develop.Most of the candidate teachers have stated that the ceramics education develops manual skills of students, enriches their imagination and develops their psychomotor skills. Most of the teachers have proposed that for efficient and productive ceramics education it should be made as a workshop.
