Carl Gustav Jung’un geliştirdiği Arketipsel Eleştiri Kuramı, imge ve resimlerden yola çıkarak karakterlerin psikolojik tahlillerini yapan bir kuramdır. Bu kuram, araştırmacılara ele alınan karakterleri, insan psikolojisinin derinliğinde yer alan “ortak bilinçaltı”nın beslediği ve birçok kültürde ortak algı yaratan mitolojik figürlerle karşılaştırma imkânı da verir. Jung, güçlü arketiplerin farklı kültürlerde farklı formlarla göründüğüne inanır. Bu arketipler, ancak güçlü bir deneyim ve tetiklenmeyle bulunduğu kültürden sıyrılarak ortaya çıkar. Eserlerini mitolojik unsurlar, masal kahramanları, grotesk unsurlarla besleyen Turgay Nar’ın Gizler Çarşısı adlı tiyatro metni, bu kuram bağlamında incelenmeyi hak eden bir metindir. Güçlü kurgusu ve psikolojik tahlil imkânı bakımından evrensel nitelikler taşıyan karakter yaratması esere çoğul okuma özelliği kazandırır. Yazar, bu oyun vasıtasıyla geleneksel teknikle yazılmış tiyatro tekniğinden farklı olarak sanat eseri vasıtasıyla, İktidar – Halk çatışmalarına yönelerek bir tepki tiyatrosu örneği de sergiler. Oyunda ele aldığı arketipler, toplumun duygusal hafızasına kazınan karakterler olup okuyucuya / seyirciye karşılaştırma ve geçmişi düşleme imkânı verir. Zor okunan ve sahnelenen bu metin, tiyatronun basit bir eğlence olmaktan çok insanı düşündüren ve toplumsal sorunlara da değinen yönüne işaret eder. Bu metinde Gizler Çarşısı oyununun ana karakterleri, Jung’un geliştirdiği Arketipsel Eleştiri Kuramı bağlamında incelenmeye çalışılmıştır.

Archetypal Criticism Theory developed by Carl Gustav Jung analyzes psychology of characters taking stand from images and pictures. This theory enables researchers to compare the characters with mythological figures, which lead to common sense in many cultures since they are fed by "common subconscious" in depth of human psychology. Jung believes that powerful archetypes have different forms in different cultures. These archetypes show up by distancing themselves from the given cultures through a powerful experience and triggering. The theatre text, Gizler Çarşısı of Turgay Nar, who feeds his works with mythological elements, fairy tale heroes, grotesque factors, deserves to be analyzed within the scope of this theory. Sound fiction and characters bearing universal features in terms of psychological analysis bring multi-reading feature to this work. The author presents an example of reaction theatre by heading towards Power-People conflicts through the work of art, which differs from traditional theatre technique. The archetypes in this play are the characters scraped the emotional memory of society and enable reader/audience to compare and imagine the past. Being hard to read and perform, this text presents theatre as an art, which makes people think more, and touches upon social problems rather than being a simple entertainment. This paper aims to analyze the main characters of the play titled Gizler Çarşısı within the scope of Archetypal Criticism Theory developed by Jung.
