Bu çalışmada, Antakya’da restore edilen ve edilecek tarihi yapılar üzerinde çevrenin olumsuz etkileri incelenmiştir Antakya ilçesi Hatay ilinin yanı sıra Anadolu’nun tarihi ve kültürel belleğini bünyesinde taşıması bakımından özel bir yere sahiptir. Antakya’daki tarihi eserlerin korunarak gelecek nesillere aktarılması Antakya’nın Anadolu sanat ve mimarisindeki yerinin öne çıkarılmasında önemli bir etkiye sahip olacaktır. Tarihi yapılar yapıldıkları dönemlerin sosya-kültürel, ekonomik ve mimari izlerini taşırlar. Buradan hareketle tarihi yapılar toplumsal belleğimizin ve kültürel mirasının oluşması bakımından oldukça önemlidir. Korunan her bir yapı hiç şüphesiz ekonomik, sosyal ve kültürel gelişmişliğimize önemli bir katkı sağlayacaktır. Şehirlerimizdeki geçmişin dokusunu ortaya çıkartabilmek tarihsel çevreye bütüncül bir yaklaşımla mümkündür. Tarihi ve Kültürel sürekliliğin sağlanması ve geleceğe taşınması onlar için gerekli restorasyon ve konservasyon işlevinin tam yapılmasıyla sağlanabilir. Yapılar restore edilirken yalnız yapı merkezli koruma değil onları meydana getiren ve çevrelerinde barındırdıkları değerler bütünüyle korunması amaçlanmalıdır. Yapıların sürdürülebilir korunması için doğru işlevin verilmesi ve verilen işlevin çevre özellikleri ile uyumlu olması gerekir. Ayrıca çevresel sorunlar ve etkiler iyi analiz edilmeden yapılacak olan restorasyon ve konservasyonlar ileriki yıllarda yapıya olumsuz etkileri olacaktır. Yapılarda olumsuz etkilerin en aza indirilebilmesi için tarihi yapılardaki müdahale öncesinde mutlaka disiplinler arası çalışmaya özen gösterilmelidir. Bu çalışmamızın amacı Antakya’da restore edilen ve edilecek olan yapıların çevresel durumlarının göz önüne alınarak restorasyon yapılmasını sağlamaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda çevrenin restore edilen /edilecek yapılar üzerine olumsuz etkisi kapsamlı olarak irdelenerek sorunların tekrarlanmaması için bir dizi çözüm önerilerinin sunulması hedeflenmiştir.

This study examines environment’s negative effects on historical structures that are restored and to be restored in Antakya. Antakya district has a special place in point of carriying both Hatay province’s and Anatolia’s historical and cultural recollections in it’s existance. Preserving the historical monuments in Antakya for future generations will have a significant impact in highlighting Antakya’s place in Anatolian art and architecture. Historical structures carries sociocultural, economical and architectural marks of historic periods they were constructed. Hence, historic buildings are very important for the formation of our social memory and cultural heritage. Each protected structure undoubtedly will make an important contribution to our economical, social and cultural advancement. Revealing the texture of the past is possible with a totalitarian approach to a historical environment. Ensuring and future proofing historical and cultural continuity can only be achieved by complete restoration and conservation. When restoring the structures, preserving the structural integrity should not be the sole focus, their constituent and environmental values as well should be protected as a whole. For sustainable preservation, structures must be given their authentic function and this function should be in harmony with characteristics of the environment. Also, starting restorations and conservations without first analyzing the environmental problems and effects, will result in negative impact on the structure in years to come. Interdisciplinary studies must be concluded with care prior to of restoration on historic buildings in order to minimize the negative effects on the structures. Purpose of this study is to consider environmental conditions in Antakya restored structures and future restorations. In accordance with this purpose, environment’s negative impact on restored structures and future restorations will be extensively examined and in order to prevent recurrence of future problems, a range of solutions will be presented.
