Medeniyetin oluşum ve gelişiminde en önemli yönlendiricilerden ikisi insanın yaratılışındaki güzel ve güzele erişme tutkusu ile beraber diğerleriyle rekabet etme ve onları geçme içgüdüsüdür denilebilir. İnsan hayatına ait herşeyin kendisine yansıdığı edebi ürünlerin gelişip çoğalması da aynı arayışın sonucudur. Edebiyat tarihimizde bu gelişmeyi destekleyen en önemli anlayışın nazire geleneğinin kendisi olduğu söylenilebilir. Bu sayede bir şiirin içeriğine daha güzel nasıl karşılık verebileceğinin beyin fırtınasını yaşayan şair kendisini geliştirdiği, yeni hayal ve düşünceler ürettiği kadar dilin ifade yeteneğini de geliştirmiş oluyordu. Bu yarışın edebiyat tarihimizde en canlı yaşandığı dönemin 16. YY olduğu söylenilebilir. Nazireleri toplayan dört büyük eserden üçünün bu yüzyılda ortaya çıkması bunun göstergesi olmalıdır. Bu dört büyük nazire mecmuasının dışında küçük boyutlu nazire mecmuaları da gün yüzüne çıkmaya başlamıştır . Burada üzerinde çalışılan Mehmed ‘İzzî'nin sadece Kanuni Sultan Süleyman'ın şiirlerine yazılan nazireleri bir araya getirmeyi amaçladığı anlaşılan Mecmua'sı da bunlardan birisidir. Bu çalışmada daha önce incelenmemiş bulunan bu Mecmua'nın Muhibbî'ye yazılan nazirelerin tespitiyle beraber edebiyat tarihimize yaptığı katkıların da gösterilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Ayrıca bu eserde görülen özel yapıların nazire geleneği açısından gündeme getirdiği sorulara dikkat çekilecektir.

Two qualities that are inhibited in the nature of mankind probably played the most significant role in the foundation and the development of civilization. They are first, the sense of beauty and the desire for it, and the second, the competiton with one another. Literature being as a kind of registry of all actions and thinking of mankind, is no exception to that. It owes its development to those two qualities as well. The tradion of writing nazire, (parellel poems to one another) in Islamic literatures has played very significant role in their development. It is also true for the classical Turkish literature. This practise became so popular that special works rose to collect them. They are known as nazire mecmuaları (collections of poems composed in parallel). While there was only one work of that nature in the 15th century, its number grew to, at lest, three in the next century. It seems as the new researches conducted, more works of that nature will be discovered. Mehmed İzzî's Collection is one of them. It seems that he aimed to bring together some poems of Muhibbî (penname of Sultan Süleyman the Magnificant, d. 1566) with the poems written in parallel to them. In this study, first, I'll point out some of the problems with the traditon of writing nazires, and to a special case in this Collection that creates another one to them. Later, the contribution that this Collection has to make to Turkish classical literature will be conveyed. The text of Collection will be given at the end.
