Yazma, kendini ifade etmenin en etkili yollarından biridir. Yazmanın gerçekleşmesi için öğrencilerin farklı bilgi ve becerilere sahip olması gerekmektedir. Yazma karmaşık bir süreçtir, ön hazırlık ve zihinsel becerilerin de kullanılmasını gerektirir. Bundan dolayı doğru, güzel ve etkili yazma için belli bir süreç ve eğitim gereklidir. Bu beceri birdenbire kazanılabilecek kolay bir beceri olarak görülmemelidir. Son yıllarda yazma becerisinin geliştirilmesi için MEB bazı girişimlerde bulunmuştur. MEB tarafından 2012’de Yazarlık ve Yazma Becerileri dersi ortaokul öğrencilerine seçebilecekleri bir ders olarak sunulmuştur. Bu dersin verilmesi ile öğrencilerin duygu, düşünce ve isteklerini, açık ve anlaşılır bir biçimde ifade etmesi ve günlük hayatta yapmaları gereken yazışmaları kolaylıkla ve kurallara uygun olarak yapması amaçlanmıştır. Bu araştırmanın amacı beşinci sınıf öğrencilerinin Yazarlık ve Yazma Becerileri dersine ilişkin görüş, değerlendirme ve önerilerini ortaya çıkarmaktır. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın evrenini Malatya’da bulunan beşinci sınıf öğrencileri, örneklemini ise Malatya’da üç ortaokulda eğitim gören altmış üç beşinci sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada öğrenci görüşlerini almak amacı ile araştırmacı tarafından uzman görüşü doğrultusunda hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yöntemi ile çözümlenmiştir. Çalışmada görüşülen beşinci sınıf öğrencilerinin çoğunluğunun derse ilişkin olumlu bir yaklaşım sergilediği, dersin yazma becerilerini geliştireceği inancına sahip olduğu sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca dersin öğrencilerin beklentilerini karşıladığı ve öğrencilerin çoğunluğunun derste yapılan etkinlikleri yeterli bulduğu araştırmada elde edilen sonuçlardır.

Writing is one of the most effective ways of self-expression. Students must have various knowledge and skills for effective writing. Writing is a complex process and requires the use of preparation and mental skills. Therefore, a certain process and training is required to write well, effective and accurate. These skills should not be seen as easy abilities that could be obtained without effort. Ministry of National Education (MEB) in Turkey has taken several initiatives to improve the writing skills of students in recent years. Authorship and Writing Course was presented as an elective course in 2012 by MEB for middle school students. The objective of the course was to give the students a sense to express their emotions, thoughts and interests in a clear and understandable form and to perform their daily correspondences easily and following the rules. The aim of this study is to elicit fifth grade students’ views, evaluations and suggestions on authorship and writing skills course. Qualitative research methods were used in this study. The universe of the study was fifth grade students in Malatya and the sample of the study constituted sixty-three fifth grade students attending three secondary schools in Malatya. In the research, a semi-structured interview form, which was designed by the researcher, in accordance with expert opinion, was used to obtain students’ opinions. The data obtained in the study were analyzed using content analysis method. In this study the majority of the fifth grade students exhibited a positive attitude towards the course and believed that the course would improve their writing skills. In addition, the course met the expectations of the students, and the majority of fifth grade students found that sufficient number of activities were performed in the course.
