Türkiye’deki öğretmen eğitiminde öğretmen adaylarına bir eğitim materyalinin nasıl geliştirilmesi gerektiği öğretilmektedir. Öğretmen adaylarının “öğretim teknolojileri ve materyal tasarımı”(ÖTMT) dersinde geliştirdikleri materyallerin nasıl daha iyi olabileceğine ilişkin bir eylem araştırması gerçekleştirilmesinin eğitim araştırmaları için önemli bir konu olabileceği düşünülmektedir. Bu çerçevede bu çalışmada ÖTMT dersi ile öğretmen adaylarının ders başarılarının arttırılması amaçlanmıştır. Bir eylem araştırması sorunların tespit edilmesi ve çözüm önerilerinin ortaya konulması çeklinde gerçekleştirilmektedir. Araştırmanın katılımcılarını 2014-2015 eğitim-öğretim yılında Ordu üniversitesi, eğitim fakültesi, sınıf öğretmenliği anabilim dalında öğrenim görmekte olan ikinci sınıf öğretmen adayları oluşturmaktadır. Ayrıca, materyal geliştirme sürecinde karşılaşılan sorunlarla ilgili olarak üç alan uzmanının görüşleri alınmıştır. Veri toplama araçları olarak, “uzman görüş formu” ve “öğretmen adayı görüş formu” olmak üzere 2 adet form kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, alan uzmanları öğretmen adaylarının yaratıcı materyaller oluşturma konusunda problemler yaşadıklarını, çalışmalarda isteksiz ve çalışmalar sırasında uzman ve öğretmen görüşlerini yeterince almadıkları görüşlerini belirtmişlerdir. Öğretmen adaylarının hazırlamış oldukları sergi, onların başarı duygularını, mesleğe ilişkin tutumlarını ve mesleki yeterliklerini oluşlu olarak etkilediği görülmüştür.

In the teacher training, the information of how to develop an educational material is taught to the teacher candidates in Turkey. It is considered that an action research aimed to determine the ways to improve achievements of teacher candidates in “Instructional technologies and material design” (ITMD) course is thought to be useful to the educational research field. From this point, in this course it was aimed to find a way how to improve achievements of teacher candidates in ITMD course. An action research, which is one of the ways to detect problems and seek solutions for this problem, was used. Participants of the research were the teacher candidates who are 21 sophomore students at Ordu University, Faculty of Education, Department of Primary School Teacher Education, within2014-2015 educational year. Besides, three field experts were consulted to detect problems and offer solutions during the material design process. As data collection tools, semi-constructed “expert opinion form” and “student candidate interview form” were used. According to the findings, the experts think that the teacher candidates are having problems in developing creative materials, are reluctant about the preparations and are insufficient for having teachers / students' opinions during the preparations. The exhibition that the teacher candidates prepared positively affected their senses of achievement, attitudes toward the profession and professional competence.
