Araştırmada ele alınan Hamza-name eseri Ahmedî’nin kardeşi Hamzavî tarafından tarafından yazı metinine geçirilmiştir. Ele alınan metin incelemesinden yola çıkarak Hamza-nâmelerin yazılı metin haline gelmeden önce sözlü bir gelenek olarak Türkler ve islami coğrafyada itibar gördüğü anlaşılmaktadır. Hamzanâme, zengin bir destan edebiyatı ile İslam dünyasına katılan İran ve Arabistan dünyasına aynı zamanda da diğer Müslüman milletlere tarih ve kültürüne de katkısı olduğu görülebilmiştir. bu hikayelerin özellikle Türk coğrafyasında benimsemesinde, Hazreti Hamza’nın cesareti, dürüstlüğü ve her zaman haklının ve samimiyetten yana olması, Türk halkının onun şahsında kendi benliğini bulması vb. durumlar ve eylemler etkili olmuştur. Hamza-name eserlerinin 72. cildinin yapılan ilgili literatür kapsamından ilk defa incelenmesi nitelik ve nicelik bakımından farklı önemleri ortaya koymuştur. Eserin 72. cildinin iki nüshasında da gerek metin kalıplarında ve çözümünde farklılıklar ortaya çıkabilmiştir. Eserin kahraman tahlilinde Hz. Hamza'nın Erc ve Ömer Ayyar gibi iki kahramanında vermiş olduğu mücadele destansı özellikte hikaye edilmiştir. Eserde müstensih imla hususunda hatalar tespit edilebilmiş ve konusu derinlemesine özetlenebilmiştir.
