There are ocaks in many different regions in Anatolia which apply sağaltma for variety of diseases. In the foundation of ocaks which in the centre of Turkish folk medicine, there is old Turkish belief “kamlık” as well as some Islamic motives. The folk medicine is still preferred by people despite the fact that socio-economic development in Turkish society and development in scientific medicine. It is consulted for various skin diseases to Gelincik ocağı in city of Manisa, province of Salihli, village of Çavlu. It has continued its existence today by Fikriye Pınar with the method of landing the hand within the family, from generation to generation. It can be observed that treatments for seven different skin diseases are the same but these treatments follow certain steps and rules. Sağaltma is done my applying a mixture of various substances on the diseased area. It can be observed that sağaltma is originated from old Turkish belief in Central Asia. Both the process of sağaltma and rhymes that sang by ocaklı have major similarities with kam and baksı in Central Asia. Subject of the research is the observation and examination of application of Fikriye Pınar in Çavlu village. The data was obtained by participant observation and interview techniques and examined by descriptive method in the history of religion. The aim of the study is to introduce these applications to the next generation and contribute Turkish cultural studies.
