Postmodenizm 1970’lerde, mimarı tasarımla başlayıp zamanla tüm sanat dallarını kapsayan ve modern hareketin klasiği reddeden üslubuna karşı bir protest tavır gibi görünse de geçmişe eğilimi, eski tarz ve akımların kullanıldığı malzemelerle yeni anlatım amacını gütmüştür. Aynı zamanda Eklektik bir yapıyı barındıran, özgün, üslup, nitelik gibi seçkinci nitelikleri olmayan, kitsch, karışık, kaos barındıran eserlerin oluşturduğu, kuralsız bir yapı içerisinde karşımıza çıkmaktadır. İfade biçimi bazen kışkırtıcı ve küstah bazen de son derece ince ve duyarlı olarak karşımıza çıkmıştır. Tasarımlar da ise bu dönemde tesadüfi olanın güzelliğinin keşfedilmişliği işlevsel unsurlarıdır. Soyut anlatımı ele almıştır. Tipografi konusunda ciddi değişiklikler gündeme gelmiştir. Bu çalışma, postmodernizmin dayandığı kimi temel dayanakları saptayarak afiş tasarımlarında felsefesi üzerinde kimi olası etkilere dikkat çekmek üzerinedir.

In 1970s’postmodernism started with architectural design and timely it contains all art branch however it caused some debates and criticise. postmodernism is seen like a protest behaviour against to clasical of modern act, it actually uses old style and trend material for giving new expression. Moreover; it is seen in solecistic structure with kitsch, complex, chaos artifacts, which have not good quality, originality, wordingand eclectic structure. Its’ expression style confronts sometimes agitator and insolent and sometimes extremely polite and sensitive. According to postmodern artifacts analyzes, postmodern artifacts are not random actually they are being in context and consept in discord. It shows abstract concept between functional cohesion and accidental beauty in design. About form, fiction, image, expression techniques come up typographic variances. This study shows that examining and finding of postmodernisms’ basic supporttives and poster design contrast and telling its affect on design. Dynamics which are created by creatif globalism impose different equipment, aspects and important bazaar to World in art. We can call postmodernism like anti-modernism. So; according to Best and Kellner “ Postmodernism obscures kind of art concept and modernist wording. It wields power too old modern style and it is a cultural sovereign on young capitalist society who create new ideas and experiment (Best ve Kellner; 1998: 224). Postmodernism comes out in chaos and complex structure but actually it is found indifferent way in kitsch and complexity namely it is elite and unique. we could not say postmodernism is different from modernism but it is a part of modernism. Postmodernism means that after modern time or period. But it is not limited with this meaning because it also carries critizing meaning to modernism. it is not a type of flow (Şahin, 2012: 93).
