İnsanoğlu, tarihin bütün devirlerinde iletişim içerisinde olmuş, iletişimini geliştirmek için de değişik vesileler icat etmiştir. Son yüzyıllarda bu iletişimin en önemli araçlarından biri de şüphesiz gazeteler ve dergiler olmuştur. Üzerinde çalıştığımız Âyine dergisi mizahî içerikli bir dergidir. Milli Mücadele dönemi gibi kritik bir dönemde yayımlanan derginin incelenmesi gerektiğini düşündük. Âyine dergisinin sahibi Semih Lütfi, yazı işleri müdürü Eşref Nesib’dir. 9. sayıdan itibaren dergide yazmaya başlayan Yusuf Ziya bu tarihten itibaren müstear isimleriyle birlikte dergide en çok imzası görülen isimdir. Bir nevi dergiyi Yusuf Ziya sırtlamıştır. Toplam 72 sayı olarak çıkarılan derginin her bir sayısı dört sayfadan oluşur. Derginin yayımlanma günleri değişkenlik göstermiş; farklı zamanlarda da olsa 42 sayısı Perşembe günleri, 26 sayısı Çarşamba günleri, 4 sayısı ise Salı günleri yayımlanmıştır. Âyine dergisi Milli Mücadele döneminde bu hareketi desteklemiş, yazılarıyla hem halkın moralini yüksek tutmaya çalışmış hem de düşmanı, mizahi bir dille alaya alarak onların moralini bozmayı hedeflemiştir. Dergide yer alan şiirlerle, hikâyelerle, fıkralarla, nüktelerle bu amaç yerine getirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu anlamda döneme ışık tutması bakımından önem arz etmektedir.
Humanbeing was within a communication in all periods of history and was invented variety of means to improve communication. In the last centuries, some of the most important means of communication were doubtlessly newspapers and magazines. The Ayine magazine, that we worked on it, is consisting of humor. We thought that we must examine this magazine which was published in a critical period like National Struggle. The owner of the magazine is Semih Lutfi and the editor is Esreb Nesib.Yusuf Ziya, who started to write in the magazine beginning from 9th issue, is the most seen name along with his pen names.In other words, Yusuf Ziya was taken on the magazine. The magazine, which is published as 72 issues, consisted of 4 pages in each issue.The publishing dates of the magazine was constantly changed; they published 42 issues on Thursday,26 issues on Wednesday and 4 issues on Tuesday even if they were published on different dates. In the National Struggle period, the Ayine magazine was supported this act.They tried to keep high public's morale with their writings and on the other hand they tried to keep down enemy's morale by the writings that humorously written. They tried to fulfill this aim by including poems,stories,paragraphs,wits to the magazine.It has an importance from the point of view lighting up the public about this subject.
