Her dil temel kelime hazinesi, deyimler, atasözleri ve kalıplaşmış ifadelerden oluşan bir söz varlığına sahiptir. Söz varlığı bir dilin zenginliğini, dili kullanan milletin kültür birikimini ve düşünce dünyasının gücünü gösteren ve geliştiren önemli ölçütlerden biridir. Dilin edebiyatın ana malzemesi olmasıyla nedeniyle, söz varlığını oluşturan kelime ve terkipler de bu ana malzemenin en küçük anlam birimleridir. Edebi eserleri meydana getiren şair ve yazarlar eserlerinde kullandıkları sözler ile bir dilin söz varlığını zenginleştirmekle birlikte dile ait olan söz varlığının aktarılmasını sağlarlar. Bu çalışma Türk edebiyatının en üretken şairlerinden biri olan ve 1953’ten sonra kendini yalnızca Türkçenin söz varlığı ve dizim olanaklarıyla şiir yazmaya adayan Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca’nın söz varlığını tespit etmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Örneklem olarak seçilen, şairin Kurtuluş Savaşı’nı destan formunda kaleme aldığı Bağımsızlık Savaşı serisindeki bütün şiirler bilgisayar ortamına aktarılmıştır. Kelimeleri sıklıklarına göre dizen ve kelime sıklık istatistiği yapan “Simple Concordance Program 4.07” kullanılarak söz varlığı unsurlarının içinde yer aldığı ortak bir havuz oluşturulmuş ve burada yer alan kelime, özel isim, ikileme, deyim ve atasözleri ayrı ayrı tespit edilmiştir. Söz varlığına ilişkin nicel veriler gösterilirken, en sık kullanılan söz varlığı unsurlarının eserin türüyle ve içeriğiyle olan bağlantıları tartışılmıştır. Kelime listesinde yer alan kelime ve kavramların sıklığı ile şairin üslubu hakkında bir değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Şairin kendi ürettiği, Türkçenin söz varlığına katkıda bulunan kelimeler tespit edilmiştir.

Each language has a unique word property including fundamental vocabulary knowledge, idioms, proverbs and clichéd expressions. Word property is one of the most important criterions which show and develop the richness of a language, the cultural accumulation of a nation which uses the language and the power of that nation’s intellectual world. As the language is the main element of literature, words and phrases forming word property are from the smallest units of meaning. Poets and authors creating literature works both help transfer word property and enrich a language’s word property with their use of expressions in their works. This study was conducted to determine the word property of Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca who is one of the most prolific poets of Turkish literature and adores his life to write poems with only the word property and syntagm of Turkish language after 1953. Therefore, firstly all poems in the Independence War Series written in an epic style of Turkish War of Independence which were chosen as sampling were transferred into computer. Then, a common group comprising the elements of word property was generated by using the Simple Concordance Program version 4.07 which enables to order words according to their frequencies and conduct frequency statistics. After then words, proper names, handiadyoins, idioms and proverbs in that group were determined one by one. In the presentation of quantitative data related to the word property, the relations among the most frequently used elements of the word property and the works’ genres and contents were discussed. As a result, an evaluation was made according to the frequencies of vocabularies and concepts in the vocabulary list and the poet’s literary style. Lastly, the words created by the poet and contributing to the word property of Turkish language were determined.
