Bu çalışmada Türkçe Öğretim Merkezlerinde görevli öğretim elemanlarının Türkçenin yabancılara öğretimi konusunda tercih ettikleri kitaplar, bu kitapların kullanım amaçları, nitelikleri ve işlevsellikleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Adana Bilim ve Teknoloji, Çukurova ve Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli Üniversitelerine bağlı TÖMER merkezlerinde görev yapan 10 öğretim elemanı oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın verileri ise araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşme formuyla elde edilmiştir. Hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu yabancılara Türkçe öğretimi konusunda görevli ve gönüllü 3 uzmanın görüşü alındıktan sonra yeniden düzenlenmiştir. Daha sonra bahsedilen üniversitelerde bu konuda ders veren 10 öğretim elemanıyla görüşme yapılmıştır. Görüşmeler sınıflandırılarak verilerin içerik analizi yapılmıştır. Görüşmelerden elde edilen veriler, ortaya çıkan kodlara göre tanımlanıp yorumlanmıştır. Bu aşamada veriler, araştırmacılar tarafından okunmuş ve araştırmanın amacı dikkate alınarak geçici kodlar oluşturulmuştur. Aynı anlama gelen yanıtlar ortak bir kod altında toplanmıştır. Ortak kodların daha iyi açıklanması için görüşmeye katılanlardan örnek alıntılara yer verilmiştir. Çalışmada öğretim elemanlarının yabancılara Türkçe öğretimi konusunda kullandıkları kitapların tasarım, içerik ve işlevselliği ile ilgili eleştiri ve önerileri bulunmaktadır. Bu eleştiri ve önerilerden hareketle yabancılara Türkçe öğretiminde kullanılan ders kitaplarının tasarım, içerik ve işlevsellik açılarından güncellenip geliştirilmesinde yarar bulunduğu görülmektedir. Ayrıca çalışmada yabancılara Türkçe öğretimi ortamlarında görülen çağdaş gelişmeler ve bilimsel çalışmalar ışığında ders kitaplarının eğitim-öğretim etkinliklerinde daha etkili kullanılması, öğrenci için anlamlı öğrenmeleri daha iyi sağlayacak biçimde tasarlanması, mevcut öğretim sorunlarının göz önünde tutularak ders kitaplarının verimi ile ilgili yapılan değerlendirmeler ışığında güncellenmesi üzerine değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır.

In this study it is assessed which books the instructors working in Turkish teaching centers prefer forteaching Turkish to foreigners what the objectives, qualifications and functions of the books are. The work-group of the research is made up 10 instructors working in TÖMER centers in Adana Bilim ve Teknoloji, Çukurova ve Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli Universities. In the study, the data was obtained with a half-structured interview form prepared by the researchers. The prepared half-structured interview form was re-designed after taking the opinion of three experts who are volunteer and charged on Turkish teaching to foreigners. Subsequently, 10 instructors lecturing in the mentioned-universities were interviewed. The interviews were classified and content-analysis of the data was analyzed. The information gained from the conversations were identified and commented according to the codes revealed. In this stage, the data was proofread by the researcher and temporary codes were made in accordance with the researcher’s concern. The similar responses were collected under a common code. Sample quotations were illustrated in order to explain the common codes better. In the study, there are some propositions and criticism about the functionality, content and design of the books the instructors use for teaching Turkish to foreigners. From these some propositions and criticism, it is understood that the course-books used for teaching Turkish to foreigners should be updated and improved in terms of their functionality, content and design. Besides, in the study, there are some assessment about the effective usage of the books prepared for teaching Turkish to the foreigners under new innovations and scientific studies, the better-design of the books so that the students could learn better and updating of the books according to the propositions and criticism under the comments regarding with the effectiveness of the course-books by considering the current educational problems.
