Ozan/âşıklar tarafından oluşturulan âşık tarzı halk edebiyatı, geçmişten günümüze kesintisiz devam etmiştir. Halkın içinden çıkmış ve halkın sözcüsü olan ozan/âşıklar, mensubu oldukları toplumun kültürel mirasını devralır ve katkıda bulunarak sonraki nesillere naklederler. Bu bakımdan âşıkların meydana getirdiği “Âşık Edebiyatı” Türk kültürünün iletişim, bilgi ve kültürel şifre taşıyıcısı olarak değerlendirilmektedir. “Farkındalık oluşturma”, “ilişki biriktirme” tabirleri son zamanlarda -özellikle sosyal medyada- yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Âşık Obalı (Mustafa Bilir)’nın biyografisi ve Samsun merkezli bu yazıda da konu, bahsi geçen tabirler etrafında ele alınacaktır. Artvin’deki kendi köyüne izafeten Obalı mahlasını kullanan Mustafa Bilir de bir yaşında iken geldiği Samsun ilinde saz ve söze olan eğilimini geliştirerek, âşıklık geleneğinin önemli bir temsilcisi olmuştur. Sanatkâr şahsiyeti çok yönlü olan Âşık Obalı’nın sanatında ilk dikkat çeken hususlar, çok sayıda türküyü sazıyla ustaca seslendirmesi, kendisinin veya başka şairlerin şiirlerini bestelemesi ve çeşitli programlarında kendi şiirlerini dinleyicilerle paylaşmasıdır. Âşık Obalı bir taraftan saz-söz meclislerinde sanatını geliştirirken diğer taraftan da Samsun’daki kültürel faaliyetlerde de etkin rol almıştır ve halen almaktadır. Samsun’un değerleri olan kültür insanlarını tanıtıcı televizyon programları, Samsun Büyükşehir Belediyesi’nin himayelerinde “Samsun Şiir Akşamları” adıyla on beş günde bir düzenlediği şiir programı, Sempozyumlarda Samsunla ilgili sunduğu tebliğler ve hem Samsun’da hem de Türkiye çapında sanatını icra etmek üzere katıldığı diğer programlar, Samsun’a ilgi uyandırmakta ve farkındalık oluşturmaktadır. Bahsi geçen faaliyetler Âşık Obalı’ya “kültür adamı” payesini fazlasıyla kazandırmaktadır.

The folk literature created by minstrels has cotinued up to the present time. The minstrels, who are the products of the society they belong to, and who are the spokesman for the people, inherit the public culture of their time and transmit it to the next generation adding more to it. Therefore, poetic literature created by poets is regarded as the carrier of the codes of culture, knowledge and communication of Turkish culture. Recently, the expressions ‘creating awareness’ and ‘building up relationship’ have been used commonly, epecially in the social media. The biography of the Minstrel Obalı (Mustafa Bilir) and the topic of this article, which focuses on Samsun, will be dealt with in respect of these terms. Mustafa Bilir, who uses the pseudonym, Obalı, referring to his village in Artvin, has become an important figure in traditional poetry developing his ability in playing saz (musical instrument) and singing at the same time in Samsun, where he moved at the age of one. The first thing to attract attention in the art of the Minstrel Obalı,who is a versatile artist, is that he is so good at singing many folk songs as well as playing saz himself as he sings, that he composes other minstrels’s poems besides his own (poems), and that he shares his poems with his audience in various pogrammes. The minstrel (folk poet, ashik) Obalı improved himself as a poet attending public gatherings where poets played and sang on one hand, and he has participated actively in cultural activities in Samsun on the other. Thanks to the television programmes in which the men of culture, who are so valuable for Samsun, were introduced, the programmes about poems named “Samsun Şiir Akşamları”, which were arranged every fifteen days, and supported by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, the papers he presented about Samsun in symposiums, and other programmes that he joined both in Samsun and across Turkey in order to perform his art, he raised interest in Samsun and created awarenes. The above mentined actvities has earned the Poet Obalı the honourary grade ‘man of culture’.
